Question about Mitsubishi WS-65611 65" Rear Projection Television

WS-65611 PIP worked until cable tech connected new Digital Box

We had PIP even after the Southwestern cable tech setup out Digital Box. I had some minor problem with the digital box and remote and a new tech came out. He said the connections in the back were not setup correctly, so he added a better cable from the wall and a special booster. After that we no longer can use PIP.

We love PIP since the 65" in PIP is like having to 32" tv. Great when I watch sports. Is it true that PIP will not work in High Def? If so is there anything I can do to change it?
Thanks .. Brenda in Sunny California

I want to PIP to be able to have my TiVo on one screen and my cable box on the other. I do not care about the DVD.

If I cannot have Tivo then just regular cable TV without going through the Digital box.

    thanks .. b

Just split your cable before the box and run that to input a and then you will have regular cable for the PIP source and your HD will be like it is now in the DTV input. That will allow you to have your PIP back.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi 65611 HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

Ws 65611 will not play HD channels. Screen gets fuzzy like it is trying to focus, then converts to blue screen that states "Check connections or power. The connections for RGBHV or YPrPb invalid" I have...

This model only has one HD input---it has two sets of component inputs on the back and one is marked 480/1080----in the menu it will be the DTV input.

Check to make sure you are not connected to the other component input.

Let me know what happens and let me know exactly where you are connected and what are using for signal.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

1 Answer

My ws-65611 always stay in 480i even with HD signal.

If you are using the component connection, make sure you are connected to the one that will support 1080i. If that is not the problem, make sure that the HD receiver is outputting 1080i and not 720p. No RPCRT will support 720p and the video may be down-rezed to 480 since this is the case.
