Did you recently replace the thermostat? If so you need a thermostat for electric heat. This thermostat will turn the blower on when the heat is calling.

How do I confirm a blend door / actuator problem?


blend door concerns heat and cold air ducting flapper. whether electronic or manual truning of a knob there is a movement noise. a motor/s make/s a sound on electronic controlled ones or a turn knob harder at times to turn does this. then feel the changes hot/cold breeze and no breeze etc..on the vent according to what you turn the system on to do. it is best to confirm movement /motion of the internal motor or flapper during night time or early morning in the garage inside the car devoid of noise to hear the motor or flapping movement, must hear some motor effort or feel hand effort if cable to the heater valve is intact/ not snapped to open heater valves on the engine side. then inspect heater cable if heater is not working etc..hope this helps.

You can see whether the fan is turning and its condition by opening an access hatch. Open the hood and look for a plastic panel located above the passenger side firewall (the area where the back of the hood would lay when closed). Pull the two plastic hatch tabs back and remove the access hatch. You may have a filter that needs to be replaced if clogged. Once open and the optional filter is removed, you will see the fan wheel below. Clean out any debris that may have accumulated - make sure the car is off. Then turn on the heater or vent and see if the fan turns. If the fan turns but you have no air blowing in the car, there may be a problem with the air duct system. If the fan does not turn, it could be a blown fuse and defective fan motor.

We have just bought a 1996 Sun Voyager. It was a one owner and well taken care of. The ac comes on and blows cool air but has no force of air behind it. Does anyone know what it could be?


what about the heater. the a/c and heater share the same fan motor. If there is no force in the heater as well it may the the fan is not turning at full speed. should be able to hear the fan as well as feel the air from the ducts. another possibility is a blocked duct way. If you can hear the fan blowing full speed check the duct for obstructions.

Toyota Previa fan blows but no air.


It could be that; the FAN MOTOR works but the fan-wheel is not turning. This usually happens when the center spindle of the fan-wheel RUSTS and eventually loses contact with the actual wheel itself.

I have a trailer with a duo therm ac..the outside fan is coming on but nothing is blowing thru the registars


Not sure where your located, so check that unit didn't freeze up on you. Make sure evaporator and condenser coils/fins are clean and run on fan only to aid in thawing them out. Once you see condensation running off roof good, try using cool again and see what happens. When they freeze up, airflow gets restricted through unit. The outside fan and blower wheel for forced air inside are attached to same motor, so if fan is working, blower wheel should be turning as well unless it is broken, or allen key has come loose on clamp around center of blower wheel. Other possibility is that the blower wheel is turning but forced air ducts have blockage at inlet, which will require letting ceiling assembly down to inspect, or removing cover on roof and screws at front evaporator and opening it up. Make sure power is off during inspection.

Insufficient cooling is a fridge repair job that you can do without the help of a professional. Often the fridge has a frost-free failure, or the compressor is faulty but there are many other reasons for a fridge not cooling properly.
Step 1 – Find the Problem

Your first job is to locate the source of the problem. Consider each of the following:

* Gaskets - Make sure the gaskets/seals are not torn and are sealing properly.
* Evaporator fan – Make sure it is working. If it is now working you may have a problem with the fan motor. Check for power to the motor and also examine the fan switches around the door (not all fridges have these switches).
* Air damper – Sometimes the air damper will not open up to allow the cold air from the freezer part to blow into the fridge section.
* Condenser coils – Check to see that the condenser coils don’t have a dust build-up and that the condenser motor is working.
* Compressor – Make sure your compressor is working with on and off clicking noises.

Step 2 – Frost-Free Failure

This is the most common cooling problem in fridges. Expose the evaporator coils by accessing the panel in the freezer section. The coils in the freezer section can sometimes get clogged up with frost. This can stop the evaporator fan motor from blowing cold air around, or cause the fan to hit it and stop, or become noisy. The defrost timer can be a bit tricky to find but it is usually located behind the back bottom corners of the fridge, although they can sometimes be found in the ceiling of the fresh food section, or behind the cold control cover.
Step 3 – Find the Timer

When you find the timer, turn the wheel-like screw slowly with a screwdriver until the fridge shuts off. The refrigerator is now defrosting. If you find that the fridge starts now, you will need to replace the defrost thermostat and the defrost timer.
Step 4 – Volt Test

If the heaters do not come on, use a volt meter to ohm test the defrost heater or volt test for 120 volts to the heater. You can bypass the defrost thermostat if you haven’t got power to the defrost heater to check if the defrost heater will come on. To bypass the thermostat, join the two wires together. Replace the defrost thermostat and the defrost timer if the heater comes on now.

If there is a ticking or squealing noise in the defrost timer, or it seems hot to touch, replace it.

Many fridges have and inline fuse on both sides of the defrost heater. You will need to replace the whole heater if one of those fuses blows. Check these fuses with a volt meter if the defrost heater doesn’t work.

A quick check if you have a cooling problem is to inspect the evaporator coils. If there is a build up of white snow on the coils, this indicates a frost free problem; if there is balled ice on part of the coils with the rest bare, this indicates a system problem, like a problem with the pumping compressor.

Heater blowes cold air replaced heater controls and all vales are working the heater core gets hot on both sides so how do i fix this


It seems to me if your heater core is hot, and the fan blows cold air, then your ducting is closed off. Try and see if your duct door is opening up. You say you changed out your controls, but it sounds as though it wasn't your controls that were bad, but what they control is not opening up.
It's all well and good that the heater core is getting hot, but if the fan cannot deliver that hot air passing through it, then walah.
It has to be an air duct obstruction. Either the ducting is collapsed, the duct door is not opening, or you have some obstruction blocking the ducting. My guess, because that is all I can give you without seeing for myself, is that the linkeage or solonoid that opens the duct door is not working. Older cars had a cable, but I believe newer use a solonoid to operate the opening and closing of the door. The door is there so you don't get the heat from the core when you are using AC.

95 toyota camry coolant problem


adam, if you want your fans to turn on, add a switch in your dash panel. there is a firewall break behind the driver side front wheel, so all wiring can be run through there. to solve the over heating, check fluid levels, replace the water pump, and just for kicks, replace the fluid and hoses. make sure there is 50/50 mixture in the coolant system that really does make a diffrence. good luck!

A/c blows cold parked then blows hot after a few miles


engine fan not kicking in at right interval to bring air in so its pulling in hot air threw ducts
or you have a disconnected duct blowing all air out not to right place

guages could be faulty or bad a/c relay
