Check were you plugged the input to a high or low, giving an amp too much signal will do what you described, certain amps got a limit.

How many ohms is the speaker? You have the amp bridged going into the sub? You have the negative of one side hooked up to the negative and the positive on the other side hooked up to the positive?

It says that it is bridgable at 4 ohms. What about the input? Set your stereo about half way up. Then turn your amps gain up slowly until it is where you want to listen to it normally. Not to loud. Then when you turn it up it isn't too much.

But it sounds like you have way too much power for one speaker. Especially a ten. It takes two tens to equal one 12.

Make sure you don't have a short circuit somewhere. Make sure the wiring is all intact.

Power light

This could be a DC offset condition. Check you manual for what this means. Or other condition. First Disconnect the Subs and try it. If it still goes red then disconnect the RCA's and try it again. If the Led continues to go red after the click then the Amp is hosed. The Click you hear is an internal relay that cuts the subs in after a dely so you do not get the turn on THUMP of the radio at your subs.

Sony Xplod 1000 watt car amp quit working.

Almost all after market amps use 12v at very very low amperage to trigger the amp on. A temporary jumper from the battery plus terminal on the amp AFTER the battery and ground wires are attached should cause the amp to turn on. I would check to see if you have attached your speaker load correctly ESPECIALLY if you are bridging. Most of the blown amps that come into my shop are due to incorrect bridging loads from the speakers. Note that a 4ohm load bridged across both outputs of an amp will deliver a 2ohm load to each of the channels. When you parallel wire two 4ohm speakers together and then attached them to a bridged amp you will be putting a 1 (one) ohm load to each channel of the amp. Please don't make this mistake. It will fry your amp in about a month. Hope this helps. Good luck.
