Uninstall the old driver and then restart and reinstall it again, after that you should scan your system with a potent antivirus.
if not work then you should renew your windows to make it fixed automatically.

I cant hear sound from my computer

If you are using speakers on a desktop computer, the first thing to try is to test your speakers on a different computer. If they still don;'t work, then it's time to replace them. If they do, then there a few things to do.

You would first have to test the speakers on a different audio port & see if that makes a difference. If it still doesn't work, the next few steps will also apply if you are using a notebook.

Check to make sure that the volume is all the way up and NOT set to mute.

rictutero_18.jpg

After making any adjustments to the volume, try playing any media file & see if the media player volume is also correctly set (cranked up, NOT muted).

(*) In the event that it comes up with an error, read it: it might say something about not having a sound device installed. If it does, then you will have to download the audio drivers from the Manufacturer's website (You will need to type in you computer's Service Tag in the website to skip to the downloads page where you would look for the Audio Drivers category); if not, see below.

If you have Windows Vista or Seven with either HD audio or HDMI-capable display, right-click on the volume icon near the system clock and choose Playback Devices.

Something like this should come up:

rictutero_20.jpg

Make sure to select the CORRECT DEVICE. If your computer is connected to an HDTV, choose HDMI. If it's a notebook computer, choose Digital Output. Otherwise, select SPEAKERS as seen above.

If all else fails, you will have to uninstall then re-install the sound drivers.
In Windows 7 or Vista, click on start & type "Device Manager" in the Start Search box and click on the Device Manager icon that appears in the results list

rictutero_21.jpg

For Windows XP, Click on Start -> Control Panel -> System.
The System Properties window pops up; click on the "Hardware" tab then click on "Device Manager"

rictutero_22.jpg

In the Device Manager window, open the Sound, video and game controllers.
Right-click on your audio device and choose "Uninstall"

rictutero_23.jpg

When prompted, restart your computer. It should work after that. If it does not, it will provide an error message that will determine the actual cause of the problem. You may end up downloading the drivers as detailed in the (*) section above.

If the drivers will NOT install and says there is no compatible hardware, then the audio device has stopped working & will need to be replaced. Any other error would pertain to the operating system and would be a completely different issue.

ERROR "NO SPEAKERS OR HEAEDPHONES

Check the device manager for any sound driver issues to do this

1. Click start -> right click on computer/My computer -> left click on properties

2. Go to Device Manager

If Windows XP

2.1 System Properties window will appear -> Click on Hardware Tab
2.2 Under Hardware Tab -> Click on Device Manager

If Windows Vista or later versions

2.1 Click on Device manager located on the upper left side of the Properties Window

3. Under Device Manager try to check if there is Other Devices among the list

4. If there is Multimedia Sound or any association with Sound

5. If there is just reinstall the sound driver using the disk that was given to you by the computer manufacturer.

6. usually the disk is the mainboard disk that came with the computer

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
you might have to get a portable usb sound card if you mean dont have a sound card installed

Hello @Rocketships. It sounds like you have removed software / hardware drivers, which translate how the speakers and/or audio should work, to a language the CPU can understand.
Try doing a 'restore' to a date just before you had problems.
Try downloading driver(s) for the device.
Do other sound devices such as head phones still work OK?
If not, you may have to update missing drivers for your OS.

I can't hear the sound

First troubleshooting steps, double check your speakers, wires to speakers and power. Next if it is onboard audio check bios with peripheral devices and see if it is disabled. Third device manager is your next stop see if sound card is installed and does not have any errors or exclamation points. If at this point the sound card is installed and looks as if running fine but there is no sound, the next step is double clicking on the speaker in the bottom right, go to options then properties and check mark all the other sound device volume controls and also check the volume control you can find in control panel.

Try rebooting and hitting the F8 repeatedly as soon as the boot sequence starts. When it comes up to an options screen select repair. From there you can let windows try to repair or select to install to the factory settings.
