Samsung HCN653W DLP TV will not come on.

The timer light will come on and flash for a few seconds but will go off then. No sound or anything.

The time flashed 10 times and went out.

  • Arkman Jan 25, 2008

The lamp has never been changed. Where is it located?

  • Arkman Jan 25, 2008

No, I dont have a manual. Can you get one online for me?

  • Arkman Jan 25, 2008

I have the owner's instructions. I don't see anything about changing a bulb. I have already been to the Samsung web site and visited these links you gave me. They are no help.

  • Arkman Jan 25, 2008

I saw that but the back of this tv doesn't have a panel like that. The only lamps we see are three lamps toward the front of the inside of the tv that point up.

  • Arkman Jan 25, 2008

There are no fans in this tv. How could you tell if the bulb is blown? Do you need to remove it?

    Standby state.

The picture will automatically appear in about 15 seconds.

Auto Timer ON/OFF has been set and the set will automatically be

turned on in about 25 seconds.

A cooling fan inside the set is not operating normally.

Lamp cover on the rear of the set is not properly shut.

Check if the ventilation hole on the rear of the set is blocked, because

if the inner temperature is too high, the power will shut off.

    Lamp may be defective.

    • It takes about 30 seconds for the TV to warm up, so normal brightness may not appear immediately.
    • The TV has a fan to keep the inside lamp from overheating. You’ll occasionally hear it working.

The description sounds like a protection mode has been activated and the smoke obviously confirms this. Sounds like it will need to be inspected by a service technician and could get expensive

The TV turns on and off after a few seconds and repeats itself.

Hi.

Either the stk convergence modules or the vertical ic have failed.
replace the 3 parts and it should fire up again.

It is unlikely that you can do anything yourself.
It sounds to me that there is a power supply problem that has steadily gotten worse and that cannot be confirmed remotely, it must be done on site by an equipped professional.
