My apple aluminum keyboard works when plugged into my Powermac G5, but my macbook air does not recognize it
Any idea why?
Try to connect your keyboard to the mac air while mac book is connected to internet (by wifi) then update your programs (apple menu - update).
you probably have a problem with the power management: try this:
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Hello arnomonfort,
Sorry I forgot to add that when I plug it in, it says the USB device is consuming too much power and the macbook air shuts off the port. But when plugged into the Powermac G5, it works perfectly.
Any idea why? Thanks for the help
Hello arnomonfort,
Sorry I forgot to add that when I plug it into my MBA, it says the USB device is consuming too much power and the MBA shuts off the port.
But it works perfectly on my Powermac G5.
