When I have a static problem with a phone or radio it usually happens when I have them plugged into a extension cord. Or they are too close to one another. You may try an ext.cord. just having the phone plugged in or find out why you have so many magnetic fields in your house and if moving the phone around to different outlets help.If not I suggest you call Radio Shack. You can not beat their customer service.

The control is usually a sliding switch in the base station, not on the handset. Open the battery holder and look in there,

Static

My friend, we are all volunteers and we (the people who answer quesitons) work from our homes. Collectively, we are pretty good at what we do ... the pay ... is nothing. The incentive ... to help other people solve their troubles.

So,. now that I have a question to answer, I will say your telephone is capable of transmitting on one of several channels. You will have to dig through the menus or the owners manual for specific instruction on how to change the channel to one less prone to what ever the static source is in your home.

Things that cause static: microwave ovens, computers, flourescent lights, motors, cell telephones, garage door openers, CB (and other frequency) two way radios. Sometimes you can reduct static by reversing the plug in the outlet (the power cord I'm speaking of). Sometimes you can reduce static by moving the base station to another location.

I hope I have shed some light on your problem.

I have static thru the handsets... i see in the

Move it away from other electronics, TV's microwave ovens, etc. Try it in a different part of the house to see if the static is location sensitive. It must be getting interference from someplace. The manual should describe a procedure for changing channels although that may not solve the problem unless the "static" is an interfering RF signal. If this is a remote handset problem, it may be too far from the base or the signal is obstructed by something. 5.8GHz does not have the range of the lower frequency phones.

We have a lot of static and loud buzzing on the phone

I had the same issue that started on some 3 year old 5.8 GHZ Uniden cordless phones. I moved it from room to room and same buzzing. I found a older Uniden set I had kept in a desk drawer. I swapped out the power transformer (power cord) and it is clear as a bell now.

Heavy Static on phones. Can't hear caller. No caller ID

Room monitoring mode is basically a type of Intercom.

Press the *TONE/exit button on the handset to exit room monitor mode.

I will provide you with link to the user manual of the phone. Have a check at it. Might be useful.

Have static on both phones and need to know to change the phone channel to move static.

I had the same problem with my uniden 5.8 ghz phone. After placing a filter (from the phone company) into the wall jack and plugging the phone into that filter the static noise was eliminated completely. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

No sound, only static

Hi I had the same problem and just emailed Sennheiser.Go to the menu on your TV and change the variable audio output to fixed. I use the headphones through the home theatre so the volume must be max on the home theatre and then you can adjust your headphone volume. It absolutely worked and I don't get anywhere near the static noise when I go to another room with the headphones on that I got previously. Also be sure your audio cable is plugged into the fixed audio output socket. I did not have to do anything with that.
