How do I turn on the magnifyer?

Should I download something for this mouse? My Mouse icon in control panel does not look like this one and doesn't have an option for a setting for the magnifyer.

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes the mouse works fine other than the button on the left side of it that enlarges.

I checked the link and it did not show my mouse. It is a Microsoft Model 1007 Intelli Explorer 2.0

Does the mouse work ?

Maybe install the software that came with it, if you didn't get anything or lost it you can download a new driver here:,en?prodcrid=398
just install the sofware, restart your comp and it should work, if not reply with more details.

Slow the mouse down on windeows 8

Although you don't specify which model, since you posted under the "Logitech Cordless Mouse" heading, I assume you have a Logitech mouse. In my experience, even modestly advanced (e.g., cordless, >2 buttons, etc.) Logitech mice don't always play well with mouse & keyboard settings tools found in Windows' Control Panel. Mr. Freeman's suggested adjustment to the generic Windows mouse management settings might be adequate for now. However, you're always better off using software specifically designed for your product.

The program you need is called SetPoint, and it's the key to getting full use out of your mouse or other Logitech device. All versions of the SetPoint software, and drivers for Logitech products, are available for free download at the Logitech support website. Here's the link:

Cursor problem

Disabling the touchpad on a Dell Inspiron can be useful when typing for long periods of time, or using an external mouse. Bumping or tapping the touchpad while typing can cause cursor jumping and unwanted results. Use the touchpad software to enable or disable touchpad controls. Download the driver for your touchpad at the Dell Support website.

Click on the "Touchpad" icon in the task bar. If the icon doesn't appear, you can download and install the driver for the touchpad from the Dell website, or choose "Start" and "Control Panel." Choose "Device Select" on the touchpad menu, or choose "Mouse" in the "Control Panel" menu and "Device Select." Click "Disable" under "Touchpad" to turn off the touchpad, or click "Disable Touchpad/Pointing Stick When a USB Mouse is Connected."

What do the buttons on a 5-button wheel mouse do?

There will be defaults programmed by the company that do various things. these are changeable through the mouse properties in control panel. There driver must be loaded in order to recognize the buttons and there will always be a menu like properties in control panel that program what button does what.
1.) open control panel and look for the mouse
2.) double click the mouse icon
3.) if the driver is loaded you should see a representation of your mouse with options on what button does what.
4.) if you see a simple 3 button mouse then the default windows driver is being used.
5.) google search your mouse model and put in the search to find driver for sunch such mouse for like windows 7 driver.
6.) download and install. The installation util may give options for what button does what.
7.) Best of luck

My touchpad pointer jumps around, doesn't go where i want it to go, moves by itself, etc ... my os windows 7 home premium

Hi there,

for the meantime try using an external mouse to control your pointer. Go to Sony's website look for the model number of your Vaio and then download the driver for your touchpad.

You can also try adjusting the settings of your touchpad by going to the control panel make sure that it's in Large or Small Icons view instead of category. Look for the mouse and touchpad icon.
