Question about X2Gen MG19MY 19" LCD Monitor

3 Answers

X2gen monitor Hi, I have a fairly new x2gen 19" wide screen color monitor.  I have it hooked up to my hp laptop.  Now the problem: Much of the time I am getting the weirdest ripples running across the screen, like water on a pond. Sometimes they seem to be running left to right, and then the other way. This may be an optical illusion. But as I cannot get thru to x2gen I was wondering what I can do to stop it as it is serious headache food. Any ideas?

Re: x2gen monitor

Hey I've read about your problem cus I had same thing weird lines flying on the screen from one to the other side or crossed and I've found the solution ,there is not enough power strength coming to the monitor power supply because you have to many thong plugged to the same splitter ,just unplug the monitor power supply from this splitter and connect it to another power outlet ,not the same ,another and it should fix the problem at least it fixed my so good luck ,and sorry for my spelling cus I'm Polish ,but I'm trying!

Re: x2gen monitor

Those ripples are the monitor degausing. This is normal, the monitor defauses (ripples) routinely every so often to rid of imperfections and magnetic disturbances.

More likely to be the fuse for the backlight inverter circuits rated at 3.5 or 4Amps. It is PICO fuse.
The transistors that drive the inverter transformers may have been damaged, should check them out before installin a new fuse. In the mean time you can use 1 to 2 Ohms 1/2 Metal Oxide (MOX) resistor in place of the fuse, if the resistor overheatand open up then you have shorts circuits.

Shaded areas on my X2gen 19 inch monitor do not Show up.

It sounds like the PC video color setting is at 16 instead of 24 or 32 bit color setup. You need to check the display properties setting on the PC (Right click on the desk top). Also try it on other PC and also check the VGA cable.

Screen goes black but power light stays on

Hello. I had the same problem with my X2gen 19" (model MW19R)monitor. In my case, the monitor would turn off after 20 seconds or so but the blue power light would stay on as well. I had to replace a high voltage capacitor located in the backlight power supply board. There are 4 blue capacitors on the board which are identical and they are marked as 27J 3KV. Fortunately, I only had to replace one of these capacitors ( it was turning a yellowish brownish color ). Hope this helps.

Black out

even i had this same problem.....its two 220uF25V capacitors and one 47uF35V capacitor located on the backlight inverter chip covered by a plastic shield. It works just fine now. Be sure you get the polarity right when soldering in the new capacitors. It is marked by a shaded in half of the outline on the board and a line on the new capacitor. This was on x2gen 19inch wide screen though so check the specs of the capacitors on yours first. They all together cost around $5 at Radioshack.
hope i was helpful thank you
hav a nice day
