BELKING SWITCH2 Hi I have a belkin switch 2. I have connected it to both PC'S but nothing happens. The monitor doesnt work. Also none of the lights on the Switch2 come on at all. 1 PC has DVI ports on back, 1 PC has VGA ports on back. So i plugged VGA cable from monitor into switch 2 and then added a VGI-DVI connector to switch2 cable to plug into PC No 1 but nothing happens. My monitor has VGA and DVI connectors but im thinking the VGA must not work? DVI works fine when connected to one PC I am so confused and its really windin me up as i just want to sort it? can anyone help?

I've had one of these switches for a few years now. Just recently hooked it up again, only this time using a MS cordless mouse and keyboard. A bit different than the old wired mouse and keyboard I was using a few years ago, and we ran into this issue this time.

The switch requires the ScrollLock and the #2 to be keyed to switch. Twice on the ScrLk, then the 2 (on the number pad). After trying it with the wired keyboard and it worked, I looked at the wireless keyboard and noticed the ScrLk key was a function key. Hit the F Lock key and tried it again, and it worked this time.

I also found that with the power settings in the "save energy" mode, it had a tendancy not to switch when the other PC was asleep. Try hitting the reboot button to wake it up, and that might help.

Key things: Scroll lock key activated by hitting the Function Lock key. Wake up both systems so you know they're paying attention.

Hope this helps.

I think you must also connect the USB connectors.

Where can I can the drivers for the Belkin 2 port KVM switch F1dk102u

The Belkin 2 port KVM switch doesn't need drivers to work, it is simply a plug and play switch. You plug your keyboard, mouse and monitor into the control box, and your computers into the ends, and off you go. You toggle between computers with the switch button, and if you turn off one of the computers, it automatically swiches to the other one.

Components not recognised automatically with Belkin Switch2

This is not quite a solution, but a workaround. Take a USB cable extender and intercept the 5V supply wire in it (normally red) with a push to break switch. When you have powered up the PC, push the switch and the KVM will then work (same as your unplugging but much easier to do ). Switch bought on Ebay for 0.99GBP. Belkin tried to insist that I had my laptop plugged in and working if I wanted to use my desktop.

How do I hook up a Belkin 2-way Switch with Audio Support and Cabling?

kvm switches are easy, they just dont look it with the number of sockets.
hook up your keyboard monitor speaker mic mouse cables to the output sextion of the kvm just as if you were hooking them to a single pc.
hook the cables from the pc-s as if the kvm switch were the peripheral devices,
so that all the outputs from pc 'A' are connected to the relevant inputs on 'A' side of the kvm,
all the outputs from pc 'B' are connected to the relevant inputs on 'B' side of the kvm

Belkin (F1DK102P) 2-port KVM Switch freezes

We have the same model and the same problem. The scroll lock combo did not work for us. You need to press Ctrl, Ctrl then up or down arrow.

The manual was a load of old Tom *** as it did not mention this.

Belkin KVM 2 port switch

Sounds like its not detecting video on the 2nd port. Have you tried switching the computer on port 1 to 2 yet? If the problem moves then I would suspect that computers video card or the cable that connects it to the KVM. Let us know what happens or if you need more assistance.

Cannot switch between PC's

Typically, the KVM indicator light will only light up on the connection that is currently active. The indicator light will switch to another connection when that connection becomes active. First I would make sure that all the mouse and keyboard connections are secure. I have seen where these sometimes pop out, and thus some componenty will not work. I would then make sure that all the computers are fully powered on. The KVM will not allow you to switch to a device if it is not powered on. The KVM may indicate that a connection is down by a blinking light if you switch to a port and the connection is not up. It sounds that you have atleast one good set of cables. I would confirm that the other sets of cables are good as well. Do this by swapping the other cables with the one port that you know you have working. Finally, with a set of good working cables, swap them over to the other ports on the KVM switch. Although it may be improbable, you may have a bad KVM. AS always, I would review the product manual here: And, since this is a new product, you will also be entitled to free tech support from Belkin: 1-800-2BELKIN x2263
