This camcorder is (was) in mint condition. I only used it ocassionally during about 2 years and then got a digital camcorder. However I carefully stored the RCA so I could use it to watch my older 8mm movies. The other day I put a tape into it and it ATE the tape!!! I risked a second tape to try to detect what the problem was. It's very hard to see through the small window which looks into the tape compartment so I cannot really be sure but I have a suspicion that the take up side of the reel is not turning so the capston/pinch roller draws the tape into the reading mechanism but the tape isn't re-rolled onto the take up reel. It could be a rubber belt or something like that. I cannot find instructions on how to disassemble and so now I'm stuck. Appreciate any ideas or suggestions you might have.
Regards
John
