Open up iTunes, go to Music on the sidebar and navigate to the song(s) you want to delete. Uncheck the checkbox next to your chosen songs, so that next time you sync you iPod it will be deleted.

Alternatively, you can choose to delete/keep songs based on the artist, genre or playlist it is in. To do this, go to Devices on the sidebar and click on your iPod, making sure it is connected. Go to the Music tab at the top, and change the radio selection to 'Selected playlists, artists and genres'. From the options that appear beneath, select the playlists, genres or artists you wish to sync. Remember, if a song is included in ANY of the selected items, it will be synced.

Hope this helps,

Thomas

Delete songs from i pod touch 2nd generation

You must connect to the computer with iTunes. There you can select the music you want t delete.
For that wait till the iPod is backed up by iTunes, then on the left side click on the line with the name of your iPod. Then on top click on Music and then you see what music you can synchronise.
If you already did remove the original backups from the music on the iPad, there is a chance iTunes all remove all these numbers.

Apple has lots of info about every part you want to know about your iPod and iTunes.
