I am aware of that. However i looked at the XP driver library and the hardware I want to use is in there but not in my computer.

Not necessarily, these drivers depend on the device manufacturer. What device are you trying ti use?

External CD/DVDRW combo not working, looking for xp pack driver

Most of the External drives are having USB connection, so it should be plug and play and no driver is required. If you still have issues, go to device manager and see if there is any unnown device and update the driver for it, Windows has the USB driver.

Need drivers for toshiba external hard disk s/n: 0214060603 - for operating system win xp service pack 3 please

There is no need for any drivers for an external Hard Disc unless you are using Win98 or an older version.XP / Vista and Win7 are all plug and play enabled. As soon as you plug a healthy device into your USB port a pop up notice will come and after a few seconds the system will recognize the device and becomes fully functional.
Confirm on another PC if the device is OK

No sound from external speakers with toshiba dynadock

if using XP, go to start control panel , sound and audio devices.Under the audio tab make sure the C Media CM106 sound device is selected under sound playback. Then under the volume tab set the volume somewhere in the middle or at the top if you don;t have active speakers . Then Under Speaker settings advanced, make sure the speaker setup is set to Laptop Stereo speakers. Also make sure the speaker volumes are up on the speaker volume button. click ok. If no result check that the cm106 sound decvice was cemented in as I saw it dissaper when I thought i had slected it. I think the key thing here is the device and the laptop speakers setting.

DVD DRIVE NOT BEING RECONISED

This is a solution for error code 41 but it may assist you with your problem.

A driver was loaded but Windows cannot find the device. This error occurs when Windows does not detect a non-Plug and Play device.

If the device was removed, uninstall the driver, install the device, and then click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver. If the hardware was not removed, obtain a new or updated driver for the device.

If the device is a non-Plug and Play device, a newer version of the driver might be needed. To install non-Plug and Play devices, use the Add Hardware wizard. Click Performance and Maintenance on Control Panel, click System, and on the Hardware tab, click Add Hardware Wizard.

On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard.

Good luck.
