Question about Toshiba TZ50V51 50" Rear Projection Television

Toshiba TZ50V51 - Power light flashes, tv won't turn on

Hi, I know this has been posted but so far I've not found a reason for this. If I unplug it it takes a bit longer for the solid red to start flashing. I don't know at present how long it flashes, it appears to be continuous.
I hear the power trip on but nothing other than the red flashing happens. Can this be the fuse people have mentioned (I wish!) or am I looking at an expensive repair?

It is hard to say Toshiba is one of the few manufactures that have good step by step procedures for diagnosing ad repairing your television. There is a manual called Toshiba power supply and shutdown circuit troubleshooting. This is a valuable asset to save hundreds of dollars on repair. You can get this manual at the following link it has your model covered in it for 10.99. It is on page 2 of the toshiba section bottom of page. They will even email it to you if you are interested in trying to repair your own set. Hope this helps here's the link.
