Question about OKI MICROLINE 320 Turbo Matrix Printer

1 Answer

Printer won't print labels

My ML320 Turbo simply won't print labesl (Avery 4145 style). The printer does between 3 and maybe 6 labels, then stops. The alarm light flashes and the HSD and PROP lights on the front panel are lit.

Print quality of the labels that do print is spotty, too. New Oki ribbon.

I've used Epson emulation with the Epson FX-286E driver and the IBM emulation with IBM Proprinter III driver. Neither seems to work better than the other.

    Dezzi,

This morning I uninstalled my printer and reinstalled it as an IBM with the Proprinter driver--as you suggested. I tried printing labels and it made it all the way to number 31 before the alarm light came on and printing stopped (my normal print run, if I can ever get it to happen, is about 1250 labels).

During the print the printhead seemed to stop and start from time to time. The quality of the print is spotty. Some letters are dark, some light.

    Any ideas?

    Dave

What driver are you using ? the default driver should be IBM Proprinter.
Hope this helps

Hi Use the "IBM proprinter" driver not the IBM proprinter 111 and set the driver in the printers menu to IBM Proprinter, and try again to print the labels.Hope this helps.

How to print only one sheet at a time not all sheets

This can be a little tricky. If you haven't used any of the labels yet, simply put the address in the first label and simply print. The printer will print the address on the first label and all you have to do is remove it and put it in place. Next time you need to make another label, set up the program that you are going to use to print the label and once the "Avery 8168 Inkjet" label is on your screen just move the cursor to the second label (With Corel WordPerfect just hold the ctrl key and hit the Enter key) and print your return label. Using this procedure you can use one sheet of labels without having to print all labels at once or using a new sheet.

Why does hp officejet Pro 8600 crashes when printing avery labels?

Avery labels may be blocked on your computer so check your security settings. Other wise you may need to refresh the page, your computer or the printer. If that doesn't help you may need to double check your ink cartridges are full and correctly placed, also that the wires connecting the printer to your computer are all in properly.

Im trying to print avery labels but my printer does not have a setting for it

Normally support for printing Avery Labels is found within the application you are using to create the labels to be printed, i.e. in Microsoft Office Word or similar publishing programs. . . .Avery provide a Wizard extension to use in Microsoft Word to help you to produce and print on their labels. . . .See http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Templates-&-Software/Software/Avery-Wizard-for-Microsoft-Office.htm for further details and to download the Wizard. . . .Note: You need to allow Macros to execute within Microsoft Word in order to use the Avery Wizard.

I have an HP3200 series all-in-one printer, and I am trying, unsucessfully, to print Avery Brand #3268 notecards on it, using my own photos. The Avery type is on my Scrapbooking program, but all I get...

Today's printers are a lot smarter. I am guessing that you have a HP Laserjet 3200 All-in-One device.
If this is correct, the Avery Label #3268 is for Inkjet printers. If you are using the template from Avery and maybe their software, it maybe looking for an inkjet printer and therefore not sending the correct codes to the printer to print the notecards. (Looking for inkjet and finds a laserjet.)

I would I also recommend going to support.hp.com and look for and download the PCL-based printer driver for the HP Laserjet 3200 printer. If you can get the the HP PN (Part Number) and the HP SN (Serial Number), I can get more detailed information for you. Let me know what happens.

Printer Jam - when i put a sheet of Avery labels, printer jams

When you say TOP TRAY, do you mean a paper drawer, or the BYPASS TRAY? If the labels won't feed into the bypass but bond paper does, check to see if your labels are made for inkjet printers. Go to www.avery.com and contact Avery customer support to see what product they recommend for your MFC. Labels made for plain paper printers sometimes do not work for inkjets, and vice-a-versa.
