No audio from speakers, says no device is installed

either you have driver issues with your audio device or the sound card it self needs replacement, first go to your device manager and see if a problem is flagged, if you do not know how to do this just go to your start menu right click on my computer choose properties and then device manager. look on this list and find audio or sound click the plus button to reveal your sound card it should show the model and manufacture of the card, usually realtech. If the device has a yellow triage or explanation point over it then drivers are possible the problem, go to the link i have provided you at the end of this solution and download the audio driver ensure that you choose your operating system click on the audio tab and download the driver once downloaded open the file and follow the wizard and complete the installation reboot your computer and this should solve the issue, if not then its a physical problem and the card must be changed.

  • Right Click "My Computer" and on the menu choose "Manage"
  • Then on the listed items on the right click "Device Manager"
  • Now the left window will show the devices installed in your computer.
  • Look for " Sound,Video and Game Controllers " and click the " + " sign.
  • Be sure that all the device had been installed properly..if you see a yellow mark with exclamation point it means the device has a problem.
  • You need reinstall the driver using the cd driver of the computer..if you dont have the cd you will need to download the driver.
  • If you know the name of the software for your sound for example (Realtek AC'97) you can search the google for that driver..
  • But if you dont know the right software you can download this software: EVEREST Ultimate Edition -
  • Extract That using winrar and Install it.

I have sound card but i have not driver & detail of sound card is crystal cs4280-cmep..

if you have just installed your sound card then i suggest restarting your computer then go to start>all programs>windows update.

windows normally will provide the driver updates needed for the hardware to work efficiently.

also start>right click computer>manage>device manager and look for a yellow exclamation mark beside your audio device or sound card and right click again and update driver software.

if this does not work i will try and provide a link for a driver update, please let me know if this helps.

Sound card problem

heare is full solution of sound and sound card....
First, test your speakers by connecting them to another sound device like CD/DVD player or a similar device. If you can hear sounds from the speakers, they are fine. Next, connect the speakers back to the computer. Make sure that you plug them into the right colored jack at the back. The speaker pin should be plugged into the green jack at the back of the computer.

Now, if you can't see the speaker icon in the system tray, you may need to enable it from the Control Panel. From the Control Panel, double-click "Sound and Audio Devices" and check the box that says "Place volume icon in the taskbar.

Next, run the following command from the Start -> Run box and then press Enter: dxdiag

Click on the Sound tab and you can see the details of your sound card. You can also test your sound card from this tab. Note the name of the sound card driver, on paper. If you can't even see the sound driver name, the driver is not installed or not installed properly.

The easiest thing that you can do now is to do a system restore, using the System Restore utility.

Here's a link about how to use the system restore utility on Windows XP:…

Here's a link about how to use system restore from Windows Vista:…

If System Restore didn't make the sound work, do the following:

Start the Device Manager (Right-click My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager) In Device Manager, Click the + sign next to "Sound, video and game controllers". See that the sound driver that you noted above, is listed.

Now, double click the item in that list that has the same name as you saw in dxdiag's sound tab. Does Device Manager say that the device is working properly? If Device Manager says that the audio device is not working properly, or if there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the device, or if it says that the drivers are not installed for this device, install the drivers from the CDs or from the computer manufacturer's website. However, there's an easier way to do this, as given below.

Here's the easy way to get or update your sound drivers:
You could try to use this driver scanning tool, which scans the computer for needed drivers and has an option to automatically retrieve them for you.

You can download this free tool from here:
or directly from this link:…

After you have downloaded the above file, double-click on it and follow the simple steps to install it. Then, when it asks if you want to run it, just answer yes. This is easier than manually searching, downloading and installing the drivers.

It's also possible that the drivers are there but the sound card was displaced a bit from it's slot (in case you have a separate sound card on your motherboard, and not a built-in one).

If you suspect this, you should open up the computer and pull out the card. Then, re-insert it firmly into the slot or try another slot if you have another one free. Make sure to tighten the screw to fix the card to the case, and put one there, if it's missing. Here's a youtube video about how to install a sound card:…

If none of the above methods worked, pull out your sound card and test it in another computer. You can also try re-installing Windows and lastly try another sound card, if it still fails to work.

I cant here any audio sound on my computer

There are a few simple things to check first:
• Make sure your computer has a sound card.
You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.
1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.‌ getopencontent.aspx?assetid=18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers category. If a sound card is listed, you have one installed. If no sound card is listed, You will need to install one. See Install or remove a sound card.
NoteIf you think you have a sound card installed but you don’t see it under the Sound, video and game controllers category, expand the Other devices category and check any devices listed there. 3. If there is a yellow question mark next to the name of the sound card, there might be a problem. Right-click the name of the sound card, and then click Properties.
4. Click the General tab, and then look in the Device status box to identify problems with the sound card.

No sound card

Right click 'My Computer' choose Properties, Click on the hardware tab, then click Device Manager. Find your device, possibly under Multimedia Controller or Unknown device. Once you found the device that is your soundcard, right click it and choose Update Driver. Choose Advanced install and "Specify driver location" Then browse to the directory you extracted the contents of the file you downloaded from HP. Follow the prompts and if it is the correct driver you will have sound.

Sound and audio problems

If you don't have a sound card, yes, you're right, it won't appear in the device manager, nor will you be able to download a driver for the non existing sound card.

So, that is really the case. A quick trip to the store to pick up a sound card for your system is in order. The store perhaps could install it for you, but you can do it too.

Use google, you can find out how to install it in your system. Then, load the software disk it comes with and the drivers will be loaded into your operating system. You'll then see the device you bought listed in the device manager.

Let me know if I mis understood your situation. I can only help with exact answers to exact problems.

Here's a link to places that sell that brand:

Good luck.
