Hello. I can not seem to locate the ic's since there are not just one heat sink located in this unit. Is there a specific heat sink that they are located on? Can you possibly send me a pic of the ic that I am looking for on the site you reconmended?

You have been a big help and I appreciate all of your replies.

If in fact I am unable to repair myself, would you possibly have any knowledge to what a tv repairman would charge for such a repair? Thanks again.

Convergence ICs are bad it causes the red and/or blue to jump out of alignment making it look 3D. You have to convergence ICs located on a large aluminum heat sink with an STK number stamped on them. You can purchase new ones for about 10.00 each. they have to be soldered in. If you can solder you should easily be able to repair this yourself. Let me know if you need anything further.

go to this link they have a picture of a convergence IC STK730-150 that is not your number but it will show you what yours looks like its in the second line of products on the far right side of the page sells for 3.95 your numbers are probably different but they will be identical looking to that IC.

You are probably describing a convergence problem where the colors seperate. Very common on rear projection TVs.

1st - try to run the convergence feature in the on screen menu.
2nd - try resoldering the STK convergence amps
3rd - you'll have to replace the amps and any burned resistors feeding them, then readjust the convergence.

Hope Ya Fix It!

They are big flat modules about 3 inches long with the pins along one
edge and part number on the front starting with STK. I have had
trouble with the cheap $10 knock-off modules. Get the original
brand and many of them even have upgraded substitutes to prevent this
common failure from reoccuring. Post you p/n and I'll find it for
    you.

We usually charge about $400 for a convergence job.

Try going into the video section of your menu, and pressing RESET on your remote control. If this doesn't fix it, try your quick start guide for setting the convergence and focus.

Double vision on my samsung HDTV 1080i

Replace the convergence ICs. you will need two of them. They are located on a large aluminum heat sink with STK numbers. They cost about 10.00 each. They need to be soldered in. Its an easy repair if you can solder. Let me know if you need any additional info.
