We have boxes of old slides that are not 35mm I would like to convert to digital. Will the small digital slide/negative scanners accomodate them? If I remember correctly, they were smaller than the common ones, and required a specific slide projector to show them. I was looking at the ScanPro scanners.

Hello. yes, you can convert them to digital. Take one of the slides along to the photo store when you shop for a scanner. Also, there are adapters to accommodate your very situation. just ask at the photo store. Regards, Joe

Why do my slides only show as negatives

There may be a setting in the software to enable you to correct this - if not, then you'll have to deal with it in post-processing.

My scans look like a negative and not a photo

When you go to scan your slides, the software should have a setting for "slides", or "negatives". Make sure you select the correct one for what you've put in.

Does the HP photosmart 2710 scan negative ansd 35mm slides?

This multi function printer/scanner cannot scan 35mm slides and negatives.
Some flat bed scanners with a lighr scource that shines through 35 mm slides and negatives can scan them.
You will be better off getting a dedicated 35 mm slide/negative scanner.
Check out this WEB site foe slide scanners.

Help! We opened the box for our new Brookstone Slide and Negative Scanner Model # SKU634402 and the installation CD was missing. Is there online installation available or should we just return the item...

A search for that model on Brookstone's website takes me to the iConvert Instant Slide and Negative Scanner. That scanner does not require an installation CD. It works by scanning slides or negatives and then saving them to an SD card. Many digital cameras use SD cards so you may have one already. Otherwise an SD card will need to be purchased separately.

I am having problems scanning 35mm slides, I seem

you have chosen normal preview
1. change it to thumbnail preview
2. or click on "All" button in normal preview
so you would scan multiple negatives.

increase your dpi setting or your target area or both
I am also scanning color negatives at 3600dpi and 48bit. file is large but quality is very very good...

35mm slide and negative adapter

First option would be the manufacturer, second would be EBAY for either the part, or a used unit with the part.
