Re: only receiving private calls

Contact your service provider and ask it CLIP (Caller Line Identification) is active. If it is inactive, you won't be able to know who is calling. The service provider may charge extra for this service. (Usually it is on by default, and at some place they charge for it, with some providers it is free) Activating the service will allow you to see who is calling

All Received Calls showing up as Unknown Number LG U990

I just came back from the 3 store and for all of you having the issue, take a deep breath because its solved easily. All you have to do is call up a number (not sure what it is in your country) and they will turn some feature of your contract on, im not sure of the official name and caller id's will be working in the next 4 hours. Go to your local 3 store or call them up for support and hopefully they will do it for you.
Good luck!

Motorola Q (neww model)

Are you sure they are not blocking their number before calling? I would delete one of the numbers and have that person call again to see if they still show up UNKNOWN.

Can't receive calls from a landline phone

yeah it's because i think you have the "name display" feature offered by Fido/Rogers i got the same problem lol. Call them up and tell them to take it off or change your package. a1200 doesn't support the "Name Display" feature.
