Question about Zebra Z4Mplus Label Printer

1 Answer

Label Printing I have a zebra z4mplus printer and recently ordered new labels for my product. The labels are set alternativley on the reel, designed for a bottle. Therefore the front label is wider than the back. I have spent forever trying to set up the right print settings but i can't seem to get the thing to print how i want. If i send it though as one document, it sees the break between the 2 labels and gets confused feeding through a few labels and then printing randomly in the middle of any! I can't get the machine to understand that there are two labels of different siezes and i want to print them at the same time. Is there any way i can do this? Please help me! :-)

Re: Label Printing

Forward length matters in Label size detection. Width is just secondary. Length should be same for both. Else no, you have to had separate roll for each label size.

If the labels are same in length then there might be achance using Label Software that supports your printer.

Zebra Z4MPlus not printing dark enough

In your label software there should be a setting option for print darkness (I assume it adjusts the head temperature) In ours (bartender) you can get to it when you select 'print' and a window appears with a 'documents properties' button. Click on this and select options and a darkness bar appears which you can adjust. You may also need to slow the label print speed if the darkness adjustment is not enough. I suspect it isn't in the printers best interest to run the print head at maximum darkness/heat so a sensible balance of darkness and print speed is best.
Another, less likely, possibility is an incompatability between the label material or surface finish, and the ribbon type. We did have a problem once whem Homebase changed their price label design and we had to test a load of other ribbon types until we got one that did the job. A chat with the label or ribbon supplier is always usefull, they sent us several sample bits to test.

Manual calibration of labels not working, printer not feeding labels correctly

printer manufacturers has different standards depending from the varieties of model and brand of printers for example an epson printer model who is older version is not the same speed print with the recent model likewise with the other brand. Therefore calibration of labels is depending to the version of the printer you are using now.
