Question about Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP Console
Hello, I am really strated to get upset because I have had many of the pokemon games including Red Version, Yellow Version, Gold Version, and Crystal Version and ive noticed that after a while they just stop saving my profiles. I have tried repeatedly saving before I shut off my console, some of them wont even save the first time I try, others will save for a short period of time then just delete themselves. If anyone has any ideas please let me know asap. Thanx
U just have to press select+start+a+b

It's actually very simple. Because Gold, Silver and Crystal have an internal clock the battery would run dry faster than other GameBoy color games. Your Red, Blue and Yellow would have run dry just because they've have a save file on it for such a long time. You're best bet is to either buy a new copy that works or go to an electronics shop to get them to replace the battery. Doing it yourself isn't the best idea because the battery is already soldered on to the tabs connecting it to the game chip. There is also another possibility whish is highly unlikey but the connectors to your game boy could be dirty. If this is the case then take a cue tip dampen it (it can't be drenched with water because that will ruin the game) and do up and down strokes on the connectors of the game. (don't do side to side strokes becasue that can ruin the game too).

These games depend on a battery to save. If the battery goes bad, the save function is gone.
I do not know if the batteries are replaceable- I've never heard of doing it.

I think the person above means the internal battery in the actual game, not in the gameboy itself.
It seems that there is no real fix for this.
Do a quick google search for some more info.

I also had this problem before on my pokemon fire red version...though everytime i save it appears that the game was saved but the next time i turn on the console to play....i must start a new game.
i guess this has something to do with the game itself and not with the console...Gameboy cartridges (GB original, color, advance, and SP) can be pirated or copied. in this case the unscrupulous people who do these things are those who makes profit with less budget. copying an original cartridge to be sold on the market but most of the time removing the "save" and "options" category of the game....meaning less program on the cartridge....less cost to manufacture....more income for them.
the only suggestion and solution i can advice is...always make sure that the item you are buying is an original merchandise. so that if ever it has some problems...you can immediately have it replaced or fixed by the manufacturer or distributor
