AIM software, pop up message says AIM can not find the (web) camera
How can I get the software to recognize that a camera is installed and available for use

Assuming your camera works with some other software or online application the problem is probably AIM...uninstall and reinstall AIM. If it does not work with other software go to device manager in Windows and make sure the device is listed without an exclamation mark next to it. If there is one reinstall the driver. If any of this is not clear....bug me. 80% chance one of the above should solve the problem. Tango...
