Re: AIM software/ Web camera

Assuming your camera works with some other software or online application the problem is probably AIM...uninstall and reinstall AIM. If it does not work with other software go to device manager in Windows and make sure the device is listed without an exclamation mark next to it. If there is one reinstall the driver. If any of this is not clear....bug me. 80% chance one of the above should solve the problem. Tango...

I can't get my web cam picture and my daughters to be on the screen at the same time. what do I doI have the web cam turned on. I can see my face. Then I signed on to AOL IM and got my daughter on-line...

You need to send your video to her also, meaning you need to activate your camera from your side. This is how you do it:

1. Double-click a buddy on your Buddy List window.
2. In the instant message (IM) window, below the buddy icon, click the camera ( aim7_im_wndw_cmra_icn.gif ) icon, and then click Start a Video IM
3. Your buddy will now receive a Video invitation. Once he or she accepts your invitation, the Video window will pop up. You can now begin talking.

Also, you can set AIM to automatically accept all Video invitations from your buddies. To do that, at the top of the Buddy List, click Menu, and then click Settings. Click to select the Enhanced IM tab, select the box next to Video, and then click Save.

Hope this helps!

I have problems with my hp web camara it freeze it a lot on messanger any help

If your web camera freezes check your Windows Device Manager and see if the hardware is recognized and installed properly. It might be that the hardware is recognized as a camera, but the right drivers are not installed. The yellow explanation mark will indicate a problem. If the device is not recognized in Windows XP, it will be listed under Other Devices
In either case you can try to update the drivers. Right-click the device, and in the pop up menu select Update Driver Software. Then follow the instructions on screen, but make sure you allow Windows to search the web for updated drivers. In case no driver for the web cam can be found, you can try a third party driver finding program that scans your PC for installed hardware and allows you to install missing drivers.
If this fails, the next step would be to un install the software that came with your web cam. Use the Add or Remove Programs feature in the Control Panel. If that does not work you can use a third party un installer. After un installing the software, restart your PC and then reinstall the web cam software. In most cases this will solve the problems. Depending on the software, you might need to unplug your web cam during the software installation.
If the drivers and web cam software are correctly installed, and you still it freezes, there can be a problem with the program settings. Most chat and meeting software have a configuration option to select the video source for the web cam feature. If you have multiple devices that qualify for video, you might need to select your web cam device as the source for the web cam feature in that program. Some web cams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the web cam if things are right. But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quick time software are installed and up to date. But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including web cams, use DirectX for video processing. Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c – Windows Vista: DirectX 10).

Thank you !!

How to install web camera

Things that you will need:
  • Webcam
  • Internet connection
  • USB cable
  • Software
  1. Purchase a camera. Webcams can range from a basic model for around $30 to ones that contain a motion sensor for around $350 or so. Most mid-priced models come with a microphone install. Decide on what this camera will be used for and choose accordingly.
  2. Read the installation instructions completely before attempting to install the camera. Although this may seem tedious and unnecessary, it can save time and headaches in the long run.
  3. Back up the computer's hard drive just to be safe. This will allow for a speedy recovery should the installation mess up the computer.
  4. Install the webcam software. Before deciding to install the disc that came with the camera, check the Internet for an updated version of the software and download that if available.
  5. Plug in the webcam. The software should give a prompt at the appropriate time. Cameras are usually installed with a USB cable. If installed correctly, the computer will acknowledge so by popping up a message saying it can see the new device.
  6. Download an instant message program if using the web camera for chatting. Some free IM download programs include Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger and Apple iChat.

How do i install my web cam ew192aa

Plug the camera's USB cord into a free USB port on the computer, if this hasn't been done already. After giving the computer a moment to recognize the camera, a balloon will pop up saying new devices have been found.

Insert the web camera's installation CD, and wait for the installer to appear. Click "Next" on each window as needed to install the software. If the installer does not automatically appear upon inserting the disk, open "My Computer", right-click on the CD drive, click "Explore", then open "setup.exe".

Launch the web camera software, which can normally be found in the start menu under "All Programs". Test the camera to ensure it is working properly.

Good luck!

The problem is not with your web cam its with your aim software. If you do not wish to go in deep settings of aim then I'd recommend you to uninstall your current version of aim and install an older version under circumstances you are using the latest version or else get the latest version. Version 6.9 is the latest. If you wish to configure your current aim software then here is the link kindly visit and correct your settings.
