Question about GE D52GW12 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
Please help. My tv was on over the weekend and went out. I thought that it was the receiver that we have our sound going through because it turned off too. I turned tv back on receiver back on and everything was great. My daughter was watching Dora and it went out on her and could not be turned back on. When I push the green power button in the front, nothing happens. The power button is black the screen stays black nothing happens. I unplugged last night to reset and will check it when I get home. I called GE Thompson (what a joke) they actually told me that there was something wrong with my tv and I needed service no crap!! Any ideas? Someone told me that it could be the bulb. Someone told me that it could be a connector . . . please help me as soon as possible. I have 6 kids and do not want to be trapped having to watch tv with them for very long. I live in Oakland County Michigan any recommendations, please help.
My solution... Buy a better tv!

Does the green power light momentarily go on? If so, do you notice any crackling sound? There is a common problem with this television turning itself off. If you do hear some crackling sound, that is usually the sound of sparks and flames coming out of a bad part. Do a search on google, or even on this site, and you will find all sorts of stories of smoke, sparks, flames and melted plastic with these televisions. I believe this common problem with large sparks and flames warrants a recall.
