Need to open the entire printer, don't feelbad if you are capable you start to open other pl don't open it,its major issue..While printing main motor driving entire printer except fuser assm, entire printer load on Main motor assembly, in main motor assembly contains motor and gears, pl see the marked gear in snap I experienced this gear found warn out, this is suits hplj 5200 main motor gear, you can choose this gear and its easily available.. replace this gear, but opening the printer is difficulty.. thanks..
Wrinking usually is caused by the fusing unit. This is the part that gets hot and "fuses" the toner onto the page. I doubt that the cartridges are the issue. If you were getting binding or gears popping in the cartridge then your copy quality would be severely affected. Fuser drive gear failure is common on these models. Also if the noise is inconsistent then your right side mounting screw may be loose. Look at the fuser assembly behind the right side door. It is black in color and has the little green tab on the lever that has all the teeth on it. Looks like this:
Once you have the fusing unit located then look on either side of the unit. There is 1 screw on each side. Make sure they are tight. Especially the right side as that is where the drive comes from and is under the most pressure. If the noise happens all the time then you may have a broken or damaged drive gear on the fusing unit (upper fusing roller drive gear) or the small gear on the machine that drives the fusing unit. You can remove the right side screw and pull the fuser out enough to look at the gears.
Good luck and thank you for using Fixya.
it is a typical new problem for samsung printers. you have to reset the printer. it is a pretty tricky thing to reset this type of printers because you can "blow" it up. try find a local workshop, or a specialized person to do this
You have to replace the cartridge if you would like to continue printing. There is a reset but it is not worth risking damaging the machine to do it yourself. The cartridge has a special internal gear called a flag gear that tells the printer a new cartridge is installed. Upon installation this gear is rotated back into the cartridge so as to not be tampered with. I do not recommend trying to do this at home, if the drive gears are reinstalled incorrectly you can irreparably damage you machine, I have seen it before.
Are you sure that is the right part #. Hp has a part # RM1-0043 for a swing plate assembly. If you have one white gear and one black gear you should be ok. I STRONGLY recommend a service technician if your not technically incline.
To replace the swing plate assembly you will first have to remove ALL COVERS top , left, right, front, back. then black paper guide behind fuser, then fuser. next remove main control board and black fan connector and plate. on the otherside(left cover side) of the main board. To make this simple you will have to remove the power supply which sits under your toner cartridge. Good luck
If you put new toner in your used cartridge and you still have the Toner light, you need to reset the "reset gears". Take the cover off of the gear side of the cartridge. The reset gears are actually attached to the inside of the cover. Move the gear with the lever to the opposite side of the current position.
57 (or 57.1) SERVICE Message (Main Motor Failure) The 57 SERVICE indicates that the DC Controller PCA detected a general motor failure. The Main Motor drives all moving components in the printing process. The Main Motor is a 4-phase, DC servo motor controlled by the DC Controller PCA. The formatter detects a Main Motor failure when: • The Main Motor does not come up to speed within one second of receiving drive voltage. • The Main Motor deviates from the correct speed for one second after reaching the correct speed. Main Motor Functional Checks • Inspect the gear train for debris that would block the free operation of the gears. • Check the gears in the Toner Cartridge for wear and binding. • Reseat J211 (or J214 on the HP LaserJet 4 Plus/4M Plus) on the DC Controller PCA, and the main connector on the Main Motor Assembly. Refer to Figures 7-16 and 7-17 for the DC Controller PCA connector locations. • If the problem persists, check that the +24B Voltage is present on the DC Controller. If the voltage is not present, replace the DC Controller. If the voltage is present, and the motor does not rotate, replace the Main Motor Assembly
Not a easy gear to get to, entire side frame must be removed. I always just replace the whole left frame as pictured, but really you only need to replace gear pic at top, like I say not easy, take pics so you know how to reassemble it.
