Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Power of Recently my ASUS A7T NOTEBOOK which had been running for about 5 hours suddenly shut down. I rebooted and it ran OK for a few hours and did the same again. After a dozen more reboots all it does when the front power button is pressed is power-up for 1 second max then shut down. The light at the front comes on (and stays on after shut down!) and the chip and case fans run for that second. If I try to reboot nothing happens unless I switch the power supply switch from on to off and back again. Then it reboots for a second again when I press the power button. I haven't made any hardware or driver changes recently so was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Could the power supply be faulty or something tripping it out?

This happens because your CPU is overheating, open your PC and blow any dust off the openings and CPU/Power supply fans, if you think one of the fans is not working... replace it.

Go into the settings menu and set it to "Balanced". The thing you have to remember is that they say "Up To 5 hours" not will run for at least 5 hours. It probably will last for 5 hours on idle but not if you are watching movies on it. They take a lot of processor time, therefore use a lot of power.

I would suggest you just plug it in and do not power on the laptop for a few hours. Then try. If it persists reboot into safe mode and disable hibernation then reboot

Notebook shutting down

take out the chip and see if it works better, if it does, you have to put the same kind of chip in it as the one that is in it. make sure they bouth are the same. they have numbers on the get the same name, most poeople put in differant brands and they dont work well together.

A notebook can only shut down if the processor is getting HOT that is by itself. I can timagine its a virus because you said you formatted it?. You keep maintaining that it keepsshutting down. to me thats the CPU because its getting too HOT> How to fix is to check to see if the fan is ok the one on top. Even when it glogs up the fan can always clear it ......may be a faulty fan check it...
