Question about Televison & Video
Took delivery of a LE40M87 last week and took it out the box to check that it worked and it didn't. Could not get a picture and all I got were vertical lines of varying colour and width right across the screen. Phoned Samsung and the tech told me to plug in an aerial and and then I was able to get a menu and eventually receive a picture from my cable box via scart and then HDMi. The tech advised that it should be ok now so I proceeded with getting everything installed at the weekend. Once the TV was mounted on the wall (last night) I switched it on and the vertical lines were back! After farting about with an indoor aerial I eventually got the menu and then a picture from the cable box. However, after turning the tv off to change the HDMi cable to try and set up my new amp the vertical lines were back and I have been unable to get a picture again. (Although this time you can hear the audio from the cable box whilst the lines are on the screen) Is my new tv broken?
