Re: Resets

This always happens to me when my battery wiggles loose. the little sliding catch that holds the battery isn't such a great design, and it easily slides out of it's "locked" position (particularly when i use the heavier extended-charge battery). resultantly, the battery momentarily disconnects and freaks out the operating system. this will happen even when the phone's in a travel case which i thought would hold the battery in place. But the amount of battery movement required for a disconnect is extremely slight. my resolution has been twofold: 1) i diligently backup everything to a 1GB SDcard weekly (they're very inexpensive now) using a great program named SPB Backup (very reliable); 2) i adheared a few pieces of clear plastic to the phone where the battery installs--this causes the battery to wedge more tightly against the sliding lock, and thereby keeps the lock from sliding loose. this hasn't been fullproof, but has cut down from several reboots per week to maybe once every 3 months.

CLEAN REGISTRY - This resets the device to factory settings, losing applications but keeps your data intact.
FACTORY DEFAULTS - This completely wipes everything and resets the device back to it's factory defaults.
Try Clean Registry first.

Screen alignment loop

The only thing I can think of is that the screen might be bad. Has it been hit or dropped? Are you SURE you haven't thrown it against the wall? :P Just kidding, but seriously, my dad's old Palm had a similar problem where if you tried to calibrate the screen, it would loop, and it was because the screen was old and wasn't performing correctly. Although you were pressing it in the right place, the screen wasn't reporting the locations properly, causing the thing to loop to try and get correct readings from the screen.

My ipaq hx 2415 will not go past the ipaq screen reset screen

Have you tried a hard reset (deletes everything)

1. Press and hold down the Calendar and iTask buttons.

2. While holding down these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the bottom of the iPAQ Pocket PC for about two seconds.

3. When the Pocket PC screen begins to fade, release the Calendar and iTask buttons first, and then remove the stylus from the Reset button.

4. The Pocket PC resets and powers on.

Have you tried to delete ALL calls, not only the missed ones?
Hopefully the screen will reset if you delete all calls, both incoming and outgoing ALL calls.

Another way may also be to temporarily change the Today screen. Go to settings and click the Object tab.
Uncheck all and save your changes.
Go to the today screen and se that everything is gone.
Optional-You may turn off and on your phone and remove the battery for a few minutes and then turn on your phone again.
Now you can try to change the Today screen back the way you want it.

If this do not solve the problem and you find this hilly annoying maybe a total reset of the phone may be of help. The problem is that it resets everything, therefore you need to backup everything you don't want to lose, but this will sometimes solves strange problems.

Screen keeps un-aligning

The only possible solution to this issue is to hard reset your phone but first back up all your info because when you hard reset the phone it deletes everything.

Can't hear incoming calls (they can hear me) after using GPS/bluetooth navigation

Since I don't have a GPS, I haven't had this problem myself, but one thought does come to mind.

Does your Bluetooth Manager correctly identify your GPS? If it is misidentified as a hands-free connection, for example, the SX-66 may be sending incoming audio to your GPS. Try checking your Bluetooth Manager next time you connect your GPS, and/or deleting the existing GPS profile and setting up a new connection for it.

Doesn't move past the initial screen even on reset

If soft AND hard resets do not work, you definitely have a major problem. Sometimes, there will be problems that cause frequent freezes in the boot process. These freezes, in my experience, though, have been random, and in different places in the boot process. Try constant hard resets (patience is key, as sometimes they take a long time to load) until you get to the main screen. If you cannot get there, I really don;t know what to tell you. If you do, even once, refer to

for a permanent solution to your problem. (I know you two have different problems, but the solution should be one and the same)

Happy fixing!

PDA intermitently powers up then freezes on "Palm Powered" screen

I had the same issue. What you need to do is to hold the power on/off button than press the reset button. The screen turns off (get black) than the will ask you to make a hard reset (which end up deleting all datas). The Palm will power on like the first time you turned it on after you bought it. Than depending which version you have it will possible ask you which language you will like to have as default. After selecting you neet to setup the rest. If this is done you sync it all data will come back :-)
