Question on software for camera that is adaptable with vista

I have recently purchased a new computer that came with windows vista. I was wondering how i would go about up grading my camera software so that it would work with my new computer or will I have to purchase a new camera?

My Casio Exilim EX S600 was working a few minutes ago, until I plugged it in my new laptop with windows vista. the camera stopped working altogether. i never had this problem before to windows XP. is there a connection with the fact that this is windows vista? please help.

There should be no difference in the performance on the camera and the opperating system you use. My suggestion would be to go on to casio's website and see if there are any software/firmware upgrades available for the EX-S600. To avoid this problem in the future you may want to bypass casio's software and just use the camera as a removable drive. To do this you would connect the camera as you normally do, press the usb button, and then in windows go to 'computer', formerly 'my computer' in xp, and under 'devices with removable storage' the camera should come up. just click and drag the images/folders you want onto your computer to transfer the images.

Hey there! i have the Digimax d53 and I recently purchased a new laptop and would like to download the software to it but it says it only supports up to Windows xp and mine is Vista. What can i do?

Either you'll have to break out the old XP computer, or you can download your pictures to Vista, using a card reader. There is a snowballs chance that the software may work with Vista, but it usually doesn't, since it was developed back in 06 or thereabouts. But a card reader will download the pics, and then you can use a free, 3rd party software (like Irfanview) on them for effects, or retouching. Hope this helps...

I need the Windows Vista driver for the Olympus Camedia D-360L

The camera is a serial connect camera and what we recommend for Vista users as well as our new software is to look into purchasing a smartmedia card reader that connects to USB port so that you are able to transfer images using the reader as opposed to connecting camera to PC. The camera connection is not Vista compliant.

To learn about the new and free version of Olympus Master 2 software go to: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/oima_softwareMaster.asp Click on 'Free Download' to register your email address to receive an email containing a link to download either the Windows or Mac version. This software replaces all previous versions of Camedia Master 4.x and Olympus Master 1.x and is Vista compatible.

Finepix a345 Windows Vista

You don't need a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.

All Fujifilm digital cameras will work on Windows Vista using drivers already installed on the operating system.

Vista should recognize the cam as a "Mass Storage Device".
You probably don't need any lame software they ship with the
camera. USB connect and follow Vista's dialog boxes (wait
about 30 secs or less for Vista to speak up.)

Changing from windows XP to Vista

Which camera do you have? Unfortunately some hardware vendors never supplied their customers with WinVista drivers. You might try the WinXP drivers anyways with your Vista OS.
