Grinder will not grind (by 3 users)

coffee hopper went empty, put new beans in turned the grinder on and all i get is a click and the grinder does not start?

We've had the Hamilton B 80384 for about 10 months and love it. The start switch started working intermittantly and now has totally died.

I push the switch by pressing the white slide switch and nothing happens. I need to know to take off the base so I can get inside to check the switch contacts and motor. How does one remobe the base?
