Finding a Ballast for Mitsubishi WD-62327

Dear Sirs I had a mits. auth. service tech out to look at my 62327. He checked multiple things all over the boards and said I have a bad ballast. He showed us where it is and how to get to it. I have a friend that is experienced in soldering. The tech wants 550.00 bucks for the part and repair. Im sick of putting money in this piece of crap TV! Im on my 3rd bulb in 3 years! Is there anywhere I can buy the ballast at a better price and have my friend install it? Im just trying to cut some cost somewhere, because I dont want to spend another 550 on this unit after Ive already spent over 1000.00 bucks (Im kicking myself in the arse) I couldve bought an incrediable LCD TV for all the money this set has cost me. I have now drawn the line spending big bucks on this unit. Please help me if you can? Thank you Jim

You can contact mitsubishi parts at 1-800-553-7278 to check on the availability of the ballast you need, most aftermarket retailers don't carry the ballast. Hope this helps.

Where is the ballast board on a Mits. WD-52627

In order to reach ballast you have to remove optical block. Ballast is usually covered with metal shield. It's located on the right hand side of optical block (if to look from the back of the TV). and it have two black thick short wires that connected to the lamp cartridge socket.
Regards.

Need color settings for a mitsubishi wd 62327. Everytime I try to tweak i make it worse.

First look for a reset or factory reset in the menu. If that doesn't work you will need to get to a qualified service center.

Replaced Bulb and sill have red lamp light

no you should not feel any click, the lamp plug
slides into the ballast plug in the groves.do not
force it,you could have the plug upside down or
you need to visually see if the ballast plug is
damaged.you may need to replace the ballast if you still are getting a red lamp error on the
front of the tv.

Need Power Board

This can be hard. Mitsubishi is the only place that boards can be ordered. Only a repair shop or someone with an account with them can order parts. And sometimes they need an authorization number to order boards. Call your local service center.

Yes this is the signal for a bad lamp. Other things can cause this. 1. Look at the new lamp. make sure it still looks good. not broken with little glass pieaces in it. 2. When you turn on the tv, put your ear to the lower back part of the tv near the middle. Listen for the start up of the color wheel (a low high pitch sound only at the start up of the motor). If this is good you will here a ticking sound only if the lamp dose not light.

Now with all this info. If the lamp lights (as seen from the back of the set) and goes out after a few seconds and you did not here the color wheel spin up, the color wheel is bad.

If you here the color wheel spin up and no ticking sound, the Ballast is bad.

The ballast part no. 939P978010

The color wheel is not avialable from Mits. You will have to replaced the light engine. It cost to much. Just buy a new tv.

My best gess is the Ballast.

Tv does not power on

This is a bad fan. There are 4 fans in the tv. Any one of them can cause this. Here are the part numbers:

Lamp Fan FAN-LAMP 299P282010
DMD Fan FAN-DMD 299P283010
Ballast Fan FAN-BALLAST 299P278020

You have 3 options 1 is replace the Audio PWB. The only other thing it could be is IC3E00 which is audio output (TDA8922J)
or it could be IC3A01 Sound Processor (C-MOS-MSP3445G-Q1-B8-V3). I will include a link incase you would like to purchase the service manual. If you have soldering and some testing ability the service manual may save you alot of cash. DLPs are expensive for a tech to service. You can get the full service manual here for 10.99. They will email it to you if yourequest it by going back to the site and clicking onto the contact them link and leaving your email address. Hope this helps. here is the link,

Mits wd 62327 "NOT WORKING"

I recently repaired a Mitsubishi DLP for a similar symptom. Found C9a37 and C9a38 in the power supply to be defective. They feed the light engine driver. The power supply module is located all the way up front on the left side of the chassis looking from the rear. The module is also shielded so you will have to remove the shields to locate the capacitors. The value of the caps are 3300mf/25v. Good luck
