My laptop ate my disk

Try turning the printer off for a while, take the cartridges out and put them back in

There are two ways toopen the CD drive door if the button just below the drive tray does not work.
Go to My Computer and right click on the drive and click on Eject.
If this does not work then you can manually open the CD drive tray by -
Straighten a paper clip and gently insert it into a tiny hole below the drivetray next to the Eject button. Push the paper clip gently until the drive traypops out, then pull the tray until it is fully out, then you can remove the CDdisc.
If you continue having problem opening with the Eject button, then the CD driveis faulty and needs replacing.

This is happening when it is jammed with some wrong inserted disk ..or it does not make contact with the main board so it has no power to react ..or ..if it was disabled..(in the last case it may open when you manually press the button ..)I suggest to take a look on the tray of the drive ..and see there is a hole on it ..If you insert a paper clip in there and press it will manually open..try to remove whatever is inside and place another disk to verify its functionality ..if it works ..fine ..if not ..try to see if it has the icon in my computer ..and if not try to reinstall its driver , by going to device manager ..and select in the list ...right click and update driver..windows should have its driver built in ..
In case it does not react ..go on the back of the laptop and see that it has a screw (or 3) that holds it in place ..remove them and slide the drive ou t..Place it back and restart ..and make sure it is plugged well ..If it still not working you will have to change it cause it may be damaged..
Another thing you may try after removing the disk or manually open i t..is to insert a windows disk and try to boot from the disk ..(go to bios by pressing F10 on start ..and in there select the cd to be the first boot device ..save the settings with F10 and exit ..). when you boot again it will ask to press any key to boot from cd ..if you have a windows cd inside..and you may reinstall the OS and eliminate any errors..this also mean the drive is functional and probably has a damage on the exit mechanism if t still makes the same after reinstalling windows.

With most desktop computer optical drive's there is a tiny hole located right under the optical drive tray.
(The tray the disk is inserted in)
A paper clip is straightened out, then inserted into the hole.
This is a manual override, and will open the tray.

There are some desktop computer optical drives, that the computer case has a door that flips down, then the optical drive tray comes out.
The door must be eased down far enough to see if the optical drive has the small hole.

With a laptop computer the optical drive is removed from the laptop.

Generally there is one small Philips head screw that is removed from the bottom side of the laptop, then the optical drive tray is opened with the paper clip, and the optical drive is then removed by using the tray as a handle.
The optical drive is then pulled straight out.

Once out the top cover is removed for access to the disk.

there will be a rectangle shaped cutting most often in the right side of your computer.then inside this cutting there will be another small minute cutting press it.insert the cd close

The way to fix this is to open the disk tray and blow inside for about thirty seconds getting the dust out of the way of the laser also blow across the disc tray and the surface of the disk. Then keep closing and opening the tray and it will start to read hopefully. if this does not work go out and buy a disc cleaner. it looks like a disc with sponges on it and when you insert it into the console it cleans the inside for you. HAVE TO INSTALLED IT MANUALLY BY GOING TO MY COMPUTER AND CLICK THAT CD TO OPEN .ONCE YOU OPEN THAT CD CHECK TO SEE IF YOU GOT THE SETUP FILE INSIDE. CLICK ON THE SETUP AND THE DISK WILL START INSTALLED.

Copy the disk on a regular computer or laptop with CD to a flash drive and install from there.

Or connect to the internet and download it to your device and run it direct from the device.

Plug in the printer & run the disk. That's it!
