If its a window air conditioner, take it our of the window, then take it outside unplugged. Spray the coils with a garden hose at low water pressure. You don't want too much water pressure cause it can bend the fins. Also try not to get the electrical components wet. Spray the water strait into the coils at a 90 degree angles to push the dirt free on the inside of the condensor( outside coil).

We have a delonghi pinguino pac-t105 which just doesnt get very cold.

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Clean cloth(s)
  • Garden hose (if necessary)
  1. Verify that the air conditioner is connected to a power supply if the unit is not operating. Reset the circuit breaker or fuse if necessary and ensure that the electrical cord is plugged firmly into the unit.
  2. Clean the condenser coil with water from a garden hose and wipe down the fan motor blades with a clean cloth if the air conditioner is flashing a yellow alert light or is not operating or cooling as expected. Remember to turn off and unplug the air conditioner prior to maintenance.
  3. Adjust the thermostat to a warmer setting if the air conditioner is producing air that is too cold. Adjust the thermostat to a colder setting if the air conditioner is not producing enough cold air. Allow a few hours for the colder or warmer setting to take effect.
  4. Clean away leaves, dirt, branches or other debris away from the main unit if the air conditioner is not functioning well or the motor is running excessively. Clean the grilles and vents to allow for proper air flow.
  5. Contact an authorized service professional if the above steps do not resolve the issue

DeLonghi PAC L90

Hi,

I would venture that your unit requires cleaning of the filters or at worst it may be a fan motor. Initially, try removing the front panel holding the filters and clean it as instructed in the user's manual. Should this not be corrective, i would suggest to seek the services of a qualified professional

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

We have a portable air conditioner. It keeps

Follow the steps below....

1. Power down the air conditioner using the "power" button on the front
panel.
2. Unplug the air conditioner from the wall socket.
3. Hold the front panel "power" button down and plug the air
conditioner in. Continue to hold the power button down as the machine
goes through a brief test sequence (fan & compressor each come on
briefly, etc). There is a "beep" sound at the end of the test sequence,
and the machine will be off. At this point, you can release the power
button.
4. Unplug the air conditioner.
5. Plug the air conditioner back in.
6. Congratulations! You should now be able to operate the air
conditioner normally for another 720 hours, but only if you followed
the instructions above EXACTLY.

It keeps freezing up if you put it past #5

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. Freeze ups are caused by a couple things.

1. The first thing is a dirty evaporator coil. Air conditioners that run 24 hours a day should be thoroughly cleaned every 90 days.

2. The Blower fan wheel is dirty

3. The fan motor is not running fast enough.

Most of the time these 3 items listed above are the main reasons and Air Conditioner Freezes up.

Thanks for using FixYa,

Kelly

I have an E1 error code

Hi

E1 means Automatic filter clean reminder. Turn the air conditioner OFF and unplug it. Kindly make sure that the air conditioner is unplugged for the automatic filter clean timer to reset, then clean the filter. After cleaning, replace the filter and plug the air conditioner back in.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

An excellent way to clean AC's, as I have found, is following the step-by-step procedures primarily related to maintaining the coolness of your AC, as found at the following link: http://yourhandymanzone.com/Your_Handyman_Zone_How_To_Pages_Home_Improvement_Zone_Cooling_Ventilation_Systems_Central_Air_Conditioning_Does_Not_Cool.htm The link above takes you to a guide on how to thoroughly clean your AC. This should help! Good luck, Brad

Drain must be blocked and water coming out of the front of the air conditoner. Would like to know how to dismantle to have a look and see if we can give it a clean. A Manual would be handy if possible...

Heya Deb,
I found the manuals that you where after. I have included a link below.
Althou they dont really help with cleaning of the drain,

http://www.fujitsugeneral.co.nz/manuals.pl?source=Hi-Wall+Range

If you feel confident enough to dismantle the air conditioner please follow my instructions below, how ever if you have any doubt please do not continue.

First off you will need to isolate the power. Turn the air conditioner off at the source, normally at the meter box. Confirm that the power is off. Next under the louver flap is three plastic clips that can be moved to expose three phillips head screws, remove these and put them someone so they are not lost. Next take out the filters. Now what your going to have to do is make sure there are no more screws (locations change from model to model) now pull the cover off from the bottom and unclip it from the top. Remove the cover, you should be able to see the drain clearly now. Pour abit of water in the tray and see where it is leaking from, clean tray if req. Make sure the water exits the drain outside before reassembly.

If you have any problems or questions please contact me

If you have the error code E1 on the LED temperature display. This error code is intended as a reminder for the user to clean the air filter every 720 hours . I have a sharp and I don't know what model you have but you may check the manufacturers web site for a instruction book but on my unit you have to do the following

You should now be able to operate the air
conditioner normally for another 720 hours, but only if you followed
the instructions above EXACTLY.

after following this procedure to clear the nefarious E1 indication, you should obtain
another 720 hours of cooling bliss

Error code on air conditioner e1

Search for this problem on web or contact Sharp Technical Support for the following procedure:

1. Unplug unit.
2. Hold down power button while plugging in unit. It will do a short self-test and then beep. leaving unit off.
3. Release power button and unplug.
4. Plug in again and turn on normally. This should last for about 720 hours, at which point the E1 error will come back and you need to follow the procedure again. (You might as well clean the air filter at this point just in case it really needed it...)
