firstly check your power cable by moving the wire in various directions while it is plugged in ac outlet and powered on, if it lit up the standby power LED then the prob lies on the power cable. If not, try opening the speaker system box itself (be sure to unplugged the power cable before opening the box), then visually check inside for the little cylindrical glass type tube(if the circuitry still uses this kind of fuse) if it is burnt-out. Hope this help pal...
Most remotes that do not work can be fixed--I would go that route first.
To help you I need to know if only some buttons do not work or all etc.
The remote if some work can be tested: most shops have a card that the remote is pointed at--buttons pressed and the tester beeps or flashes a light---this can also be done with some digital cameras where the screen will flash when remote pointed at it when on to see if only certain or all buttons on the remote are working.
The remote sends a infrared signal and this can be seen.
If only a few (usually adjacent buttons) do not work something got spilled onto remote and got inside---this can also be easy.
Let me know as much as you can. (see make a comment button on this page)
Try and twist the jack which is connected to your PC, the solder inside could have snapped. If it has a diferent pwer source for the sound system, then power on, hold the jack and short the ends with your fingertips. If the speakers dont respond then its not getting any power, which could be simple loose connection too. Test both and then decide. If you dont have the correct driver then download from: http://www.new-drivers.com/files/speakers/Logitech/?gclid=CM_a2oOjtpkCFcQtpAod6hp-5Q........sodeep
at the cost of some equipment today they are throw away when the dont work and buy new. if its a small transformer you might try radio shack multi volt unit . bring in old transformer so the can match speaker side of wire.
Check the socket of your speaker to the computer if they are on the right socket.
Re-install the sound driver of your computer if you dont see an speaker icon at your task bar usually found at the right side of the task bar.
hi , i have the same problem with soundsticks II, they just won´t work anymore,,,,the light is still on in the sub but there is no sound coming out of the speakers.....it happend after i moved my computer from one room to another.....
1) Check cables for dust, or bad connectivity. Clean aprop.
2) Clean carefully the volume control inside, with spray for computer use.(carefully inside the conectors)
3) Finally and sadly, have to change the speakers, may be is something damage inside the board of speakers, or fried. :o(
