My JVC GR-DVL305 goes into Safe Mode and tells me to remove and replace the battery. That doesn't work nor does taking out the battery and plugging directly into wall power.

JVC has some known faults with their camcorders-- and most of the solutions are outside the abilities of average users. JVC says in this instance, to remove the battery and the charger, and let the camera sit for some period of time. If the camera also has a small battery for keeping the date, remove it as well. Let is sit and then replug it in and see if this cures it.
