Question about Refrigerators
I have a 7-year old GE side by side refrigerator. The freezer/refrigerator intermittently gets warm. It appears that the compressor does not always come back on when needed for some reason. However, if you manually turn the freezer control down and back up, the compressor always comes right on and everything cools back down just fine. It may go a week or two without a problem, then the problem may occur once or twice a day. The compressor does not seem to get abnormally warm when it runs.
GE Service came out and cleaned the compressor coils, but that did not solve the problem.
GE had a problem with their units I dont see which model you have here but if you pull the unit out and look on the back wall lower right side and see a cover plate with about 10 screws in it ther is a main ctrl board in the and it controls just about everything in your unit There is a relay on the board that controls the compresser as well it maybe sticking at times. The crappy part is you can not just replace the relay you have to replace the whole board.. if this is the case post the model # and i will get you the part# and cost on a replacwement it is something you can do yourself
