Re: power transformer problem

You need the service manual for those values. A quick google search shows it costs more than the replacement transformer!

But that is for the 110v version @$21. The same company sells the service manual @$24 or just keep googling.

I want to purchase a pair of pioneer CDJ 850 players, however in my country the power supplied is 110 volts at 50hz. I have had problems using electronic devices that only specify 60hz. The CDJ 800's...

The 850's should work fine on 50Hz. They are spec'ed at 120/60. with your lower voltage the transformer in the power supply should NOT have a problem. There is nothing syncronized to line frequency so it should work fine.

I accidentally plug my aiwa excelia cd player model xc-003 to 220 volts instead of 100 volts. Iheard a small popping sound when i plug the unit to 220 volts.

If you're lucky you'll have just blown the internal fuse.

You need to remove the cover and look for the little glass fuse on the PCB where the power cord comes in. If it has blown then look at the metal cap on the end of the fuse and is should tell you what rating it is (2A etc). You should also check to see if any other components appear damaged before replacing the fuse.

The problem is in the laser for sure. Try cleaning with a cd cleaning tool. It's the easiest solution because changing the laser is not always available solution.

The disc tray of my Yamaha cdc-745 CD player does open properly.

It's the belt inside the machine - open tray and look in front left side and you will see it. Easy to change out with new one.
