Re: Error in Scanning
Sorry to ask u ,how old it is,this kind of problem is found due to following reasons
1)driver software:uninstall n reinstall driver
2)scanner is dusty:clean the scanner from inside
3)inner scanner cable(black cable) defective:replace cable
but before all try this
1)go to my computer,u can see icon of scanjet 2400
2)right clk,clk get pictures.....,new window will open,
3)click preview n wait n see does it shows the preview?
4)if it shows preview then reinstall hp director,or try above mentioned steps,definately the problem will be solved,

• Ensure that the power cable is securely connected between the scanner and a live electrical outlet or surge protector. • If the power cable is connected to a surge protector, ensure that the surge protector is plugged into an outlet and turned on. • Disconnect the power cable from the scanner and turn off the computer. After 30 seconds, reconnect the power cable to the scanner and then turn on the computer, in that order.
Im assuming that it has worked before. My suggestion is that if its under a year old you contact the manufacturer here at www.hp.com If its older than a year and out of warranty you probably need the scanning lens replaced and to be honest with you if that is the case and you have to pay for repairs buying a new one will be much cheaper for you.
