BenQ FP737S-D 17" LCD Monitor blank screen

I am responding to Jan.22/08 solution #3 posted by Bendys. Would you please be able to go into a little more detail on how to get to fuse? ie. Is fuse at bottom under foil tape or left side under foil tape? Do I grey metal backing where saudered circuit board is?
Thanks so much.

Hi Mate,
Ive worked on a few monitors since then. From what I remember, one side of the foil needs to be removed. Under this foil are 4 plugs for the back lights. Mark them before you remove them so you know which way to put them back. Also unplug cable from board that comes from the front buttons. Remove 4 screws on side of screen. This will remove the steel housing that the circuit boards are mounted on. ***** Make sure you wear an earth strap or static electricity will fry the boards. If you dont have an earth strap, try to work on the monitor in a static free environment. eg on a steel table that has been earthed, and dont wear nylon clothing. There should be 2 circuit boards that will need all the screws removed to pull both out at the same time. The "PF" will be on the reverse side of the board or the "component side". There is a ceramic fuse (white), but this will not be the problem if you can see the screen with a torch. To find the fuse I spoke about, please see my previous listing.
All the best,

I am having the same proplem with the same monitor and to get to the fuse you have to remove the main board and then the fuse is "soldered" on to board.I thought this was my problem but from what i am reading it sounds more like the backlight on the LCD panel as i can just see a faint outline of XP when i boot PC.In other words everything seems to be working except for the brightness of the monitor.I am still investigating the costs of replacing the backlight against a new monitor as i have had this monitor for one month past it's warranty. Will try another brand next time.Sorry i can't provide fix.

BenQ fp737 monitor

Disconnect the signal cable from CPU and power on.You should get a BenQ Blue screen.
If no Display,Problem is definitely monitor related ie monitor has a hardware defect most probably the power/invertor board has a few blown components.
If you are technically able, you can dismantle monitor and check components on the Invertor board which you may find on my other posts.

Resolder the power transistors on inverter board and also check them.If display is not there at all some of this 4 transistors C5707 should be defective.Check associated fuse and Fet which drives the transistor.
