I have a Motorola A630 phone. The outer keypad buttons function
erroneously . I can press only the 1 and the 9 button so as to dial the
emergency no but cannot dial anything else. The inner keypad functions
correctly and is the only way I can operate the phone. The outer keypad
sometimes starts functioning randomly (more so near a high power
magnet) but stops working again in a minute or so. please provide me
any suggestions to solve this problem.

The key combination you looking for to close any window or message in a Windows environment is ALT+F4, depending on the type of keypad the Motorola MC3190G are using.
Please Note: Keypad functions can be changed by an application so the mobile computer keypad may not function as described.
The ALT functions are indicated in blue on the keypad, so in order to use these, you have to activate the ALT Functions first by pressing the BLUE BUTTON (FUNC) (Right side below ENTER button) and then press the CTRL BUTTON (left side below BKSP button).
After the key combination is pressed, the ALT icon appears on the taskbar on WinCE devices or the ALT icon appears at the bottom of the screen on Windows Mobile 6.5 devices.
Now you can press the "D" button to use F4, this will close any window or message that is currently in view.
Press the blue FUNC BUTTON (Right side below RIGHT ARROW button), and then press CTRL button (Middle below UP ARROW button), now you can press the F4 button.
Press the blue FUNC button (Bottom right next to Power button), and then press the CTRL button (Top right side below RIGHT ARROW button), now you can press number 4 to use F4.
The problem is that the rubber below the number keypad has actually gotten weak or faded away if i must say, just have it exchanged_by that i mean they will add some more rubber so that when you press the button it simply functions, it is not a big problem as such, find a phone technician and they will correct the rubber plate below your keypads okay.
This can be fixed. The problem you are facing right now is with in the internal circuit which is placed below your keypad of your mobile. The circuit is sometime damaged because of some lubrication enters into it or because of excessive power applied while pressing the keypads. You just need to show your mobile at a repair store and he will fix your circuit. Once the circuit is repaired your mobile will function properly as it was working before.
