Re: toc code keeps comeing up on my kenwood kdc x5589

Hi, toc error means that the laser is struggling to read the Table of Contents which tells the unit where all the information is on the disc, it may be something as simple as the lens needs cleaning or something as complicated as the laser needs replacing, but you could try running a cd disc cleaner through it first. Good luck......

Just bought vehicle, kenwood KDC 722 stereo wont work till enter 4 digit security code.... ANY suggestions??

You have to go to a Kenwood car audio dealer in your area. They will pull the unit and get the serial # off the deck, call Kenwood and get you the code. If you pull it yourself you can save a little $... If you don't have the manual, go to type in your model # under support and you can download install manual as well as user manual for free. Depending on the vehicle, it could be very quick or take an hour or so to pull the unit, it all depends on the mount. Hope this helps

Need to reset the code on my Kenwood deck.

you should try the defaults 0000,0123,1234. in most cases unless you or the original owner put in the security code. Worse case it will just keep turning off till you get it right.

Security unlock code for kenwood kdc-x991

if you bought it brand new it should come with the security code. If not you can try 0000 or 1234, something easy like that is usually the case too.

Kenwood KDC-MP528 CD TOC ERR

Every one of those Kenwoods that I have fixed with that error needed the laser pick up replaced. so there is no easy fix for it.

If you have tried several disc's and they all have a TOC err, and you know the disc's are in decent condition, then you will need the pick up replaced.

First try cleaning the disc you are using. I use windex and a soft cloth like a bath towel, it works great at getting fingerprints and other stuff off the disc without scratching the disc. A bad fingerprint or a bad scratch right at the innermost part of the disc (where the TOC is located) will cause any CD player to not read the TOC, producing a TOC ERROR. you never know, you might get lucky.

Toc error

i have had the same deck for four years and installed and removed from 4 different vehicles. the deck has been through some stuff lets put it that way. mine does the same thing as yours, i have found that you just keep ejecting the disk untill it reads. usually only takes a couple times and then mine works just fine.

this is caused from the pickup needing to be cleaned(lazer) remove deck remove small phillips screw on top plate use a damp q-tip (alcohal) gently rub the lazer top with the q-tip allow to dry aprox 10min reasemble and enjoy. Also make sure u don't need a security code for your radio before u unhook the power plug!!!!

KDC-MP228 cd no play w/ codes

Gave up on it and bought a pioneer. Kenwood said to take it in to a service center. The service center would have cost me more than the crappy stereo.
