Now check the power going into the I.C.
Lots of times it will blow the dropping resistor feeding power from the flyback.

Screen gone half black...tried with different CPU...same problem persist... Please advise what to do...

The effect is called fold-over, where the bottom of the screen is folded over the top half.

If you can get into the menu set up you can try and change scan settings and adjust them so that :-

1. The screen is moved down so that the bottom of the fold-over is at the bottom of the screen and the top of the windows screen is at the top (it is missing on the photo).

2. Adjust the vertical scan rate to resolve the fold-over problem.

Otherwise it needs fixing by a TV engineer that can fix monitors as the adjustments are inside.

Tv 27" has only half screen picture horizional I

Possible failure of the VERTICAL SECTION of the deflection circuit. It is possible that the areas related to the vertical circuit is checked , check for weak capacitors near the output vertical drive. Also a faulty vertical coil- deflection coil- can result in half picture.
A vertical signal test can confirm.

I HAVE A HALF SCREEN. BOTTOM HALF LOOKS GOOD TOP HALF HAS WHITE LINES WITH A BIGGER WHITE LINE SEPARATING THE TWO. IS THE PICTURE TUBE GONE OR IS THERE AN ADJUSTMENT I CAN MAKE? TV IS A RCA F25645

This is commonly known as a vertical deflection problem. It cannot be fixed with an adjustment, but requires changing some electronic components. Namely the vertical output IC (integrated circuit) and in addition usually in this model a resistor which may appear to be burned.

Hi I have a Philips 36PW9525/05 CRT TV. The sound is fine but the top half of the screen is not visable the bottom half seems fine. Can you advise on a fix??

hello sir i already encounter that problem..first remove the cover of your unit then you go to the vertical section of CRT driver when you see the I C that stand vertically it means that section is vertical then if found that section you have to do now is look for leak/bulged top capacitor near the vertical I C then replace with the same value/rate thank you sir

The top half of my screen is black, the bottom half shows the "top half" of the picutre.

Hi there.
It sounds like a vertical problem. And by the description you`ve given it might be caused by bad capacitors in the vertical deflection circuit.
Hope this help Merry Christmas
