From what you have described your Frigidaire washer is displaying an error code of E20. I am not showing that as a valid error code and I would recommend performing a reset on your washer. You can reset your washer by disconnecting power from it for at least ten minutes. If you continue to experience issues with that error code please respond back and additionally provide me with your model number. You can locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the door frame of the washer. Once I have that information I would be able to further assist you. I look forward to helping you further. -Matt
Frigidaire front-loading washing machines have an electronic control panel where the wash cycle and any other wash options are selected, and the wash cycle is initiated and stopped, if necessary. The control panel also has indicator lights that show the washer status and will display an error code if there are issues with the washer. The "E20" error code indicates a possible pump problem.
One of the primary reasons why there may be an "E20" error code on a Frigidaire front-loading washing machine is if there is something blocking the pump. Disconnect the washing machine from the power and release the clips on each side to remove the front access panel. Set a container under the pump drain, which is located on the lower right side of the washing machine. Open the pump drain plug and allow it to drain. Clean out any debris that might be causing the obstruction, then close the drain plug. Close the access panel and restore power to the washer.
If the drain hose is blocked or crimped, the water may not pump out fast enough, causing the pump error to appear on the display. Straighten out the drain hose in the rear of the washing machine and move it away from the washer if it's trapped between the wall and the washing machine.
If too much detergent--or the wrong kind of detergent--is used in the washing machine, too many suds may result. This can overwhelm the drain and pump system, resulting in the error. Use only high efficiency (HE) laundry detergent with Frigidaire washing machines and follow specific instructions on the laundry container for the recommended amount of detergent. Run a drain cycle if there are excess suds in the washer to clear out the system.
Pressure Switch or Control Boar
The pressure switch may not be communicating properly with the control board, which can cause the E20 error to occur. The other possibility for the E20 error code is if the control board has failed entirely. Try to reset the washing machine by pressing "Stop/Cancel" and disconnecting the washing machine power cord. Wait 30 seconds, then restore power. Make a new cycle selection and press "Start" to see if the error code returns. If it does, turn off the washing machine and contact Frigidaire for repair.
Hello, After looking at the User Manual for our Washer, E20 is an error code
for the drain. It said that either the house drain line is clogged or
the washer drain line is clogged. After my husband took the drain line
off the washer, cleaned it out, we noticed that the lines had a lot of
detergent build up and figured that this is probably the cause of the
error code. We put the washer back together and it is working properly.
We have always used the "he" detergent for the front loader and
always used the proper amount; however, from now on, we will use less
than the recommended amount.
I hope this helps some of you who are having this problem.
Check water "forreign object trap". It's under the lid at the bottom of the machine. First drain water by pulling out the hose and pull out the plug. Then unscrew the trap. Have had this E20 error twice. First it was two coins there, next it was a big paperclip. Have worked fine ever since.
