I havew a kicker kx800.2 amplifier and its missing the POT/gain IC or part. How can I get the description of the missing part and where can i find one?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

You'll need to contact Kicker to see if the part is available but they rarely sell parts and you may have to send the amp to them for repair. The potentiometers and a few other parts are proprietary/custom and only available through Kicker. Most of the rest of the ICs, discrete semiconductors and other electronic components are available from other sources.

When mine on my Phoenix xs2300 got destroyed I bought a long phone cord, stripped back one end. The center two wires get soldered to the wiper of the Potentiometer, and the outer two get soldered to the potentiometer legs. I think the pot resistance was 600ohms for mine but don't quote me on that. Call kicker's tech support they should be able to supply you with the value, or even go to your local car audio store and ask to see one, it is written on the back. But for about 5 bucks you can make your own. Good luck.

Kicker IQ 1000.5 amplifier in protect mode due to overvoltage any help

When an amplifier like the Kicker IQ 1000.5 goes into protect mode due to overvoltage, it is a safety feature to prevent damage to the amplifier or connected speakers. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the power source: Make sure the amplifier is getting the correct voltage from the power source. The Kicker IQ 1000.5 amplifier requires a 12-volt power supply with a recommended amperage of 80A.
  2. Check the wiring: Check the wiring between the amplifier and the power source, as well as the wiring to the speakers. Make sure there are no loose connections or damaged wires.
  3. Check the amplifier settings: Make sure the amplifier settings are correctly configured, including gain, crossover, and subsonic filter. Ensure that the amplifier is not being overdriven by the source unit.
  4. Let the amplifier cool down: Turn off the amplifier and allow it to cool down if it has been running for an extended period.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it is best to consult a professional installer or contact Kicker technical support for further assistance.

Can i run my kicker1000.1zx to thisntx7912 sub

Yes, you can run a Kicker 1000.1ZX amplifier to power the NTX7912 subwoofer. The Kicker 1000.1ZX amplifier is a monoblock amplifier capable of delivering 1000 watts RMS power at a 2-ohm impedance. The NTX7912 subwoofer is a 12-inch subwoofer rated for handling up to 750 watts RMS power.
Since the Kicker amplifier can provide more power than the subwoofer's RMS rating, you will have sufficient power to drive the subwoofer. However, it's essential to set the gain properly on the amplifier to prevent overpowering and potentially damaging the subwoofer.

@aol.comI have a kicker zx 1500.1 amplifier and a 15 inch L7 2ohms. Is the amp too much for it?

the amplifier is never to much for the sub. If the gain on the amp is turned up to much then that will pop the sub.

I have a pair of kicker cvr 124 with a kole 1500 watt amp that is bridged to the woofers. the amp is 385 rms at 2 ohms where should the gain be to get the most power without distortion.

When setting your gain you want to set the gain high usually between 75% to 95%. if the gain is low than turning up the volume on your radio will only amplify the distortion coming from the under powered head unit. By turning up the gain you are maximizing the signal that is amplified coming from your head unit
