Red Hue

Go into the service menu and turn down the red push and red cut a few notches. Write down every value in the service menu and be careful to make sure you don't change anything else. Also, turn down the brightness a couple of clicks and the red glow will be gone.

Or, try this - Press Mute on the remote control twice, press Mute a third time and keep holding at the same time, press the Menu button on the TV front panel. If you do it correctly, you will see a small S on the screen. Congrats, you are in service mode. Press Menu on the remote to get to the adjustable settings. Be careful not to change anything without writting the original value down first. Also be careful of hitting other buttons on the remote. To reduce red push, Use the channel up down button until it says RCUT. Adjust the value using the volume button on the remote. I recommend setting RCUT to 80H, which is the preset value according to the service manual. To exit Service Mode, simply power off the TV. Good luck.

Recieved a tv from a place that used it for video display. the audio was never on. I turn the volume all the way up, but I get no sound. I was wondering if the solution could be that it's on mute, and...

It is most likely in demo mode or internal speakers set to off in the AUDIO menu. (if MUTE does not appear on the screen.)
Without an exact model number it is impossible to tell.
Check the on-screen audio menu for enabling/disabling on board speakers. (you should be able to access this from the front panel)
You should look into getting a replacement remote - as most programming, convergence, and service menus can only be accessed with an original remote.

Please reply using "continue with this expert" so we are connected in the future and include the model number.

Thanks for using FixYA!!

Thanks !!

Wierd i know but i cant get the Menu to work at all

Do this. With the set off and using the remote press the following buttons in order within 3 seconds. Display, 5, volume +, power. The set will come on in service mode. Now press 8 then Enter. This will reset the computer in the set back to original factory mode, just like it came out of the box. You will have to reset any personal settings you had before this. IMPORTANT!!!! Do not press any other buttons while in service mode. You could unknowingly cause yourself a lot of trouble.

Mitsubishi HD 1080 series model ws-65807 no volume.

You need a remote. There are places that sell them, but you can usually get by with your cable box remote or some other modestly programmable remote. It would help if you had an owner's manual. You can probably find one on line. It is a bit of a dance to make the menus work correctly.
My set is gone, but you have fairly ordinary on-screen menus. One of them is for sound on or sound off to the internals. That so that there isn't the conflict between speakers from a receiver based audio setup. You should have external speaker outlets on the set itself. If you do, plut in a speaker you're not worried about. you should get sound out from there.or use an audio out connection to a receiver, etc.

Do not know if I can solve the issue, but I have a Manual and in reading your issue, it says to press the menu button repeatedly to get to the audi menu. Press + or - to select the audio menu. You can probably see the whole audio menu now and look at the bottom of the menu to make sure the speakers are not off. if they are then press menu until it scrolls to the Speakers on off option and press + or - to turn on. It also says to check the rear of the unit to make sure that the speaker switch is in the internal position. Are you using an S video cable? If so it says you also need to run the red and white audi cables from the tv audio in to the component audio out.
Sorry cant do more, hope it helps..

To make it easy for you - you should have original remote.
Then through the menu look for channel set up then make sure you select cable or antenna then you do autosearch(sometimes called autoprogram).Unless the tuner is defective, you should be able to program withe the original remote.

Menu will not display

If the channel and volume visual display was not set up on the menu to display on screen , neither will show up even if either the remote or set front button are used. Make sure that the tv button is selected on the remote to access the menu .If that does not work ,then either the batteries are dead or the remote is dead.If it is you will need a new remote, sadly. Then you can press the m button , select sound and then select "display volume" and check "during adjustment". The channel display settings are found on "features" from the main menu. Hope this helps.
