Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-32FS120 32" TV
Can't turn off as it won't come back on sits there and blinks 7 times. I have seen many people having this problem now. I just need to know if this cost a lot to fix? I have spent a lot of this tv four years ago, but don't want to put a lot into either. Do you know what is wrong and should I bother to fix it. We got lucky the other morning and got the tv to come back on so now we just keep it on. Is there any fire hazards to doing this?
If the led blinks 7 times it means, the high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. This defect is normally found in the power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.
I would suggest to have it repair instead of having the set ON the whole time.
In regards to fire hazards is very unlikely since the latest components are using a flame retardant(PBB and PBDE) chemicals to avoid flames.
