Re: water damaged motorola e815

We do it with lots of patience. We clean all the corrosion by emersing the board into alchahol, use a tooth brush to clean the corosion. then heating it up in a special "oven" . Then we replace any parts that are beyond repair, like LCD;s and mic's. check my profile if you need help

White screen

did you drop it in water, ?did you press the screen to hard and cracked the lcd panel? those are the most common reasons, oh, and dropping it, and also dropping it in water. I would suggest going over all those possibilities.. open up the back of your phone and pull out the battery, in all phones now they have a water sensor dot, it remains white always unless the phone was damaged by water, and warranty doesnt cover water damage, look for that little white dot, if its red, that means you gotta get a new phone, and if you try peeling if off theyll know youre covering up water damage, unless you were able to somehow obtain another white color changing dot to put back in your phone now in the exact place it should be, but techs are very good at catching bluffs. but if that white is intact to begin with, your phone should be under warrenty of some sort, and that means they owe you a new one. bottom line. BOOM

How do i find out if the motorola cliq im going to buy has had water damage?

when you pop the battery off there is a circular dot near the middle near the orange or black rubber thing that helps lock the SIM in and SD card.

The dot is likely either white or red. White should indicate that it is good and red if it had significant moisture/ water contact.

Motorola razr will show 'emergency only' and cannot make calls

Was the phone dropped? Did it incur any physical abuse? Water damage?  If not, try pulling the battery out of the phone completely.  Look in the battery bay to see if you can find a white or pinkish red sticker dot.  If the dot is white, there is not moisture inside the device.  Call your service provider and you may qualify for a free warranty replacement device.
Also try and letting the device charge overnight. It may be time to replace the battery.
Hope this helps, as you only gave me limited info.

I spilled sprite on my g1!!

I dropped my motorola sliver in the bathtub full of water and it quit working totally. I called ATT where I got the phone and they told me to look under the battery. I lifted out the battery and they asked me if there was a white dot under it. I told them no but there was a red one. They said "gone". Meaning that the dot was usually white but if it turns red, the circuits are water/liquid damaged and to throw it away and get another phone. Look under your battery.

Can I Have my razr repaired

Then you should take the phone to a repair center and have it fix for a fee.

The white dot on the back of the phone is to safeguard the manufacturer from malicious damaged or use by the customer.

So if it is red that means if had to come into contact with liquid , moisture or water at sometime.

Phone wont charge

Did you drop your phone in water? or do you live in a humid area?

Your phone was exposed to moisture. That red dot is a moisture sensitive piece of tape that changes colors when it gets wet.

If your phone still works, but the battery won't charge when connected to a home charger, you might try charging it in your car. Its a different type of current and may work with a somewhat damaged battery.

If that fails to fix the problem you may need to get a new battery.

Hope this helps

Wet phone

Unfortunately you phone has water damage, and your warrenty does not cover that. For your information, either behind the battery, or within the casing, there is a white dot, and when the white dot turns red the service provider knows that your phone has been in contact with water. Your two options are to buy a new phone, or to wait it out and hopefully your phone will air dry and everything will work ok.
