Re: erased firwire by accident

Try downloading the MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.

By the way, before updating the firmware, let the battery have a full charge, ok?

I hope it won't keep freezing on you after the update

Go to There is a download place where you can get a new firmware. Your crative's firmware needs update. Read before you do something cause you might delete all your songs. I hope this wil help you cause it did the same thing to mine. Goodluck.

FM Radio was erased from the MP 3

OK this seems to easy a fix for you, but try it.
* In the main menu where it lists your options (and where FM Radio would be) press the 'Menu' button on your Microphoto (bottom right button) and there is an option to 'Configure Menu' and in there should be the option to show FM Radio again. Hope that helps you.

I have a similar, but different problem, so ill list below, maybe it will help someone out.

i also replaced the (broken) 8gb microdrive with 8gb compact flash in my Zen Microphoto, which worked flawlessly! BTW i bought the A-Data 'SPEEDY CF 8GB' from

My FM Radio still shows up, but only gets MONO sound on the Right channel, its very frustrating. i took it all apart again and made sure no connections were loose or broken, but everything seems perfect. i believe it to be a firmware issue, i think ill try to roll back the drivers. im using firmware 1.31.01.

its just annoying to have to roll back to Media Player 10 everytime just to install the firmware and have windows properly communicate with the zen... :[

Creative Zen MicroPhoto 8GB, in recovery mode, the device is not connected

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Connection Probs

Try replacing your USB cord, or re-installing your Zen player's driver. If these doesn't work, then probably the USB port on your player is worn-out or damaged. Cleaning the the port with a contact cleaner.

Solution ID # 4794 from creative site ZEN Micro and ZEN MicroPhoto 1. Make sure that the battery is charged. 2. Detach the ZEN Micro or MicroPhoto from the PC, and ensure that it is turned off. 3. Remove the battery. 4. Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position and re-insert the battery to the ZEN Micro or MicroPhoto. Hold the Power button until the Recovery Mode appears. The following options will be displayed: -Clean Up : Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.Does not affect music files themselves. -Format (All):Caution!
