Question about Standard (CRT) Televisions
We have a TV that has no remote, or papers, or manul, and it is on lock or something. We bought a universal remote and it does nothing to get tv out of whatever mode it is stuck in. internet says Philipps is its original brandname??? It is a tall floor model. We don't know how old the tv is either.
What we do to get in unlock to work; we have tried unplugging for awhile then trying again but nothing weems to work. Thank You

I have a "One for All" brand universal remote, and it has a "TV/VID" button near the left bottom corner that controls the game mode. Had the same problem, and just figured that out.

SOURCE: JVC tv "stuck" on sleep timer
I think you would have to turn off the sleep timer mode completely or increase its ON time span, say to 4 hours or so
or the lenth of time you have the TV on for. If that does not fix it then it sounds like a STANDBY MODE fault problem.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: sanyo stuck on video mode
Yippie, I figured out a solution that worked!!! I have a univeral remote from comcast, on that remote near the bottom left is a small button that says (input) tv/vcr, press that one time and whala!! the tv video screen was gone, I had to manually change the channel from the tv channel button on the unit. once I changed the channel to 3, my universal remote worked... the button is the second one from the bottom left... I was on hold with sanyo for a long time and just kept trying on my own, so good luck!!!!

SOURCE: Durabrand TV stuck on AUX mode
You can program a Comcast remote to work with the TV. Press the "TV" button on the Comcast remote. Then, hold down the "Setup" button until the red light blinks 3 times. Enter a 5 digit code:
These are the Durabrand codes: 10171 10463 10180 10178 11034
The 10171 code worked for my Durabrand DWT1905. Then use the TV/VCR button located beneath the "7" to switch inputs.

The tv has been accidentally set for "demo mode". Press the volume up and volume down buttons in front of the TV at the same time for about 5 to 10 seconds untill the demo disappears or sometimes the TV will turn off. You should regain control of the TV after this.
