Re: WOnt connect

The model of laptop...if its Toshiba, hp or sony it likely has a switch on side of it.. or could be like dells fn and f2 keystroke (hold fn hit f2) a wifi light turns on then refresh wifi list. make sure u have at least 2 or 3 green bars in xp also if a tool took over the wireless configuration then it wont show any. (check box in advanced settings "let windows manage my wireless connections")

Intel pro wireless 2200gb 802.1.11g/b sees the wireless network but is unable to obtain an IP address, I have two other laptops that conect to the linksys router just fine.

if you are using a passcode that is wpa for your security, check the version. if you are using wpa2 the card you are having issues with may not be able to support that passkey type. This will result in the problem you are having. Try the passkey as WPA1 or on some routers they give an option to allow 1 or 2.

The only other thing that can cause it, is mistyping the passkey so as long as the computer that you are adding doesn't require its mac address to be entered into the routers allowed clients mac table

Intel pro wireless 3945ABG using Windows XP Pro installed correctly (no errors) just will not detect a wireless network. I have had it working at one point, but upon removal and re-installation of thr card...

I think the adapter might be using it's own utility.
You can switch over to windows utility.
check what message do you get while connecting to the network .

Intel proset wireless 3945ABG no adapters found

You need to disable the Windows Wireless manager in order for the Intel app to take over control of the wireless adapter.

Find a service called "Windows Zero Wireless Configuration". Stop it. Set it to disable.

Try rebooting the machine and the Intel app should work.

Wireless network not detected despite all elements seems working

Hello there.

This is a common problem. What i typically do on notebooks that use Intel Wireless, is install the latest drivers and Intel software from their website. 9 times out of 10 this will make it pick up a network that was not previously found, or fix problems with timeouts and so on.

Please click here then choose your version of windows, click 'Go!' and then click "Download" beside the section called "Intel® PROSet/Wireless Network Connection Software for Windows* XP/2000 32-Bit"

When you download and run this file, and install the software, you can then use the Intel utility to connect to the wireless network.

Hope this helps.
