Question about Sharp Aquos LC-46D62U 46 in. LCD HDTV
Whenever the TV goes through a "black screen", i.e., whenever flipping through channels on cable, or switching to a submenu on the DVD player, or any similar action, the lower half of the screen (save the edges) is obliterated by a big black rectangle. Changing source (e.g. pressing on Input multiple times, or pressig on flashback twice), will bring back the image, and it is crisp and clear, until the next channel flip / menu change, where we start over again.
I am not sure whether this is due to some setting my kids did when playing with the remote, or whether it is some software glitch in the TV which can be reset (is there a reset on this model?). I tried turning it off andpulling the power cable for a few seconds, then reconnecting and powering back - problem persists. Any suggestions?
Thank you for your help.
It sounds like the closed caption text mode has been turned on. Use you CC button on the remote and make sure the closed caption mode is in the off position.
